When I got home from my deployment I was pissed at the world, drank profusely, Two of my intimate relationships, and the relationships with my family suffered because of my PTSD. I went off on them, I cut them out, and to this day I regret what I did. I absolutely love these forums and the support I received. Making this forum was a great idea and I honestly feel much more inclined to open up and share what I'm feeling.

And about the C-PTSD deal, when the APA said "they are not willing to change their entire classification system for one diagnosis." is this because of laziness? or it truly doesn't deserve to be called C-PTSD? It makes me wonder.

Basically they are not willing to break up existing diagnosis to create one diagnosis, which is a sub-diagnosis of PTSD. If they did this, then veterans would want Combat PTSD, people would want severity, Severe PTSD, etc. It opens a dangerous door. They haven't done this on any other diagnosis, and it would have been the first. Laziness has nothing to do with it... they could easily do it, but the consequences to it are quite diverse.

I have split this from the original thread posted, as it is off-topic to the nature of the existing thread.
