Try not to feel discouraged about the low dose. It's a very strong med, and best built up slowly. I did exactly the titration you have been put on, and started to have results with it towards the middle of the second week.

50mg ... That seems a very low dose though

Keep in mind that the max dose is 400mg. I am on 400mg. 50mg for a few weeks and then may or may not increasing is normal for lamictal becasue it is as my psychiatrist says 'a very delicate drug'. Taking it correctly is important, if you don't for 5 days you have to start all over again.
