I thought I'd better introduce myself.

I have been suffering from PTSD for most of my adult life following a childhood I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy and parents who really should have thought harder before they had kids.

I have joined this site because I feel I cannot keep burdening my friends when I'm having a panic attack or a flashback or one of my all to regular bouts of insomnia. My friends are brilliant and I count myself lucky to have them in my life and even luckier that they seem to want me in theirs, but I know they can feel guilty for not understanding what this is really like, and I hope they never find out.

Plus if I can help anyone else through this, then my suffering may be worthwhile.

Hey! Welcome to the forum :)

Due to so many people from across the globe being on the site there's always someone to chat to, even if it's 2 am where you are! :D

Welcome @notsurewheretoturn ... I had a childhood from hell too. Plus now going through my second trauma. Lots of panic attacks, dissociation, insomnia etc etc

This forum has been a godsend to me. It is full of lots of information and wonderful, caring people. Hope to see you around:)

Had my second trauma a few years ago now, closely followed by a third, but the impacts are still there and hit hard at times. As someone once said to me, me and sleep will never be friends.

I found this forum by accident, so still finding my feet, but if you need to talk, I'll try to be there.
