@DharmaGirl thank you <3 I really appreciate what you & @EveHarrington have said. I feel bad saying I was "beaten" or even "borderline beaten" by my parents though, because I know some people have been through sooo much worse. But at the same time, I try to remind myself that the only person who can attach definition & severity or significance to trauma or abuse is the person who haas been through it or is living through it.

By comparing traumas, I think we can lose sight of this truth: children should never have to survive any abuse at all whatsoever.

What happened to you should have never have happened. Children should never be in the position of enduring even the threat of being beaten.

Furthermore, whatever criterion A trauma happened to lead to the development of PTSD symptoms, such symptoms are hard to endure, and you deserve support just as much as anyone else.
