I am new here but I just wanted to thank those that have replied and those I know that have read my posts and may just be thinking about me and can empathize with my situation. It is just so comforting to know I have others I can turn to that can understand and are going through some of these same things even though my Vet is so much older.
I know most of you have it far worse than me. It just is so difficult for me to see him suffer after he became sober now 29 years, was addicted to Valium and was able to quit smoking. And now he is so depressed he believes nothing much is left of his life. I am glad I am there because I do know before me he was basically living like a turtle in a shell.
All of you are to be commended for 'fighting' your own battles at home where you don't get the credit you deserve. Your vet has served our country and you become the one to try to 'pick up the pieces' on a day to day basis. I can come back to my apartment and get a break for several days but most of you are living with your Vet and can't do that.
So you have my deepest gratitude and prayers. Hang in there and remember there are always ones on here wanting and willing to listen at all times. Take Care of yourself!!
