Things That Bring Relief From Anxiety & Panic

Sometimes I call my good friend and just listen to her voice.
Laying down and imagining myself laying on soft grass on top of a mountain with a calm breeze. I talk to myself out loud about what I feel, see, hear, and touch.
Listening to ASMR online.
I also watch my fish swimming in the tank.
If I'm out with a friend in public (who understands my anxiety) and I start panicking they hold my hand and tell me I am safe.

What's ASMR?
Never heard of it or maybe know it by a different name?[/Q...

ASMR - Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response
"a euphoric experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine, precipitating relaxation."
People make videos online (usually located on youtube) where it's recommended to put on headphones and the person speaks softly into the mic or makes other noises to create that relaxed response in your body.

Other sounds they make include:
• Relaxing hand movements
• Smacking of the lips
• Nail tapping/scratching on hard surfaces such as tables
• Brushing sounds

I'd put a huge caution on this one for PTSD sufferers in case any of these are triggers, especially the whispering part that's common in ASMR videos.

When I feel my anxiety getting the better of me I usually turn to relaxing music, and tuck into Sudoku for a while. I find numbers and patterns soothing, and depending in the severity and cause, it offers a safe space for me to analyze and explore whatever is causing my anxiety. If it's not something I am able to delve into at that time, the puzzles serve as a relaxing distraction of sorts.

Coloring, reading, watching funny or interesting videos on YouTube, writing, talking to friends, meditation, yoga, exercise, playing with animals, if I have a spouse, cuddling with him/being with him.
