I haven't posted since November 19th, which was a thread about how upset I was when my Pdoc yelled at me and called me an addict for taking sleeping pills. Pills that he prescribed. I ended up writing him a letter expressing how triggering his yelling at me had been. I told him it reminded me of when I had been hospitalized and treated so badly I almost hung myself one night. A long story for another time.
I saw him last week and he said he had read my letter and his intent was not to upset me, but to help me see I had a pattern of reverting to pills when having a problem. I admitted that "yes, in the past that was true, but that I was truly making a effort to get off so many meds". I announced I had gotten my Klonopin lowered from 4mg to 3mg and my Seroquel down from 300mg to 200mg since our last appt. 3 weeks prior, plus am completely off of my antidepressant. He was very very happy and I don't have to go back for 2 months. I can't begin to tell you how stressful I was going to that appt.
I told him about the health scare I'm going thru with blood showing up in my kidneys. My mom died of kidney cancer at age 63 and my maternal grandma died of cancer at 68. I had cancer when I was 26. So saying I was freaking out was putting it mildly. I had to have a Cat-Scan which didn't really show anything significant. My Internist still wanted me to see a urologist who I also saw last week. She tested my urine and no blood showed up, but I told her that on my strips blood doesn't usually don't show up until the afternoon and this was 10am. I see her again in a month and have to take 2 different urine samples to the lab before my next appt.. She questioned whether my Internist had just used a test strip or sent my sample to the lab as she said the strips aren't reliable. I didn't know, but did call my Internist and found out they had sent it to the lab, so yes I am having blood in my urine. If the new samples show blood I'll have to have a complicated CAT-Scan. One scan without contrast, one with and one without. Plus lots of other tests I can't remember
So that's just an update. I'm not really all that stressed about it at this point. I ordered professional urinalysis strips from Amazon so test my urine obsessively. Usually no blood in the morning, but some in the afternoon. I'll go for couple days with none only to have it show up again. I have no idea what it means, but guess am glad the Cat-scan didn't show anything serious.
