I am well aware of that. It just makes clear the position of much of the world.

It’s non-binding. Doesn’t actually change anything.

It may not change anything, but once again the Trump administration used it on their bully pulpit to declare that when the country’s that needed help and would come to America to ask for help, the trump administration will remember which country voted against it.

"Cuts" normally consist of reducing the rate at which state sector profligacy is projected to grow at.

It still goes up, and always goes up at a steeper angle than "planned".

A former vice president of the united state, gave probably the clearest analyses in the English language of the class conflict that is always set up whenever money is forcibly taken from some in society and paid to others. John C Calhoun.

There's the text of a speech given to the Americas bar association at about the time of the end of the war to make endless wars... Iirc it was published in "America's interest"

It basically says that a state with an unbacked (fiat) currency and a central bank, doesn't actually need to tax in order to fund it's lavish boondongles. It just prints the money.

What it does use taxes for, is to stop the wrong people (wrong in the eyes of the establishment clique ) from getting money.
Making sure that it is only the regime's golden children who get the wealth.

While that doesn't actually stand up in practice (it will either lead to a massive hyper inflation, or completely crash the civilization - arguably the latter is what happened to Rome). It does set out in broad terms the basis of American monetary policy post 1945.

Bernard M Baruch, tried for the democrat presidential nomination on a southern anti Catholic and anti black, kkk ticket. It didn't go down well with the northern urban Irish portion of the Dems. The interesting ones are the photos of the kkk big wigs in their regalia in the front row at Panther meetings and vice versa.

Interesting. I am in the lowest class, so I am supposing the Republicans are doing their best to cut my share as much as they can get away with. I have a small job, and I collect SSDI. I have no clue if I will be able to survive on that or not. There is a small chance that a family member and my church might be able to help out a bit, if things get really rough. I don't know though. If times get tough, a church might experience something of some sort of shortfall too. Hard to say.

I hope that you are ok. Some of the churches and fraternities have good support systems outside of the state sector, I'm thinking particularly the LDS and some of the masonic fraternities.

The regime's (both parties ) biggest recipients tend to be a much smaller group than is generally assumed. They're the people who can award well paid, zero work, non exec directorships to retired politicians and bureaucrats, give chel their kids six figure salaries straight out of college, and pay six figures for an after dinner speech.

A politician may give lip service to the working man, the poor, xyz minority, when they want votes, but those groups can't deliver the long term goodies

Well, I am Methodist and belong to the biggest church in my small town, so I guess that is something to be thankful for. I did not plan it that way. It was the first church that allowed me in with my service dog. There was a closer one that did not. So I walked down the block and tried the next one. That worked out great and I never looked back. They did help me out once with some medical bills, which I have too many of again, so I might ask for some help again.

As to Chel, right, got it. Agreed. Sheeeesh! LOL...

Yes I prepaid for "The Book" in the Kindle version.

I was honestly staying away from the news, then the news necessity for the weather forecast regarding the impending snowstorm.

My head spun with topics of buttons & books.

*Sighs*

Say, guys, if any of you all have friends from other countries, please consider playing ambassador and assuring them that we are not all in agreement with our current government and that we care about how they're all feeling about this. We are not the only ones suffering. People around the world are really freaked out by our president and I've been doing my little bit to help assure my friends in other countries. I really think they could all use a little reassurance from those of us who are sane. I just had a long conversation today with a friend from Cyprus, who really appreciated hearing from me and how a record number of Democrats are poised to challenge House seats in November. And, yeah, I know Cyprus is a hotbed for money laundering, but he's a good, honest, person who doesn't go along with any of that. I also reached out to a friend from Pakistan. I really think it's up to us ordinary people to reach out to friends around the world, in part, because Trump hasn't bothered to put ambassadors in some of the most important places. And, if you don't know anybody from a foreign country, makes friends with some on Facebook. We can be ambassadors if our hearts are in the right place.
