I am a proud daughter of a firefighter. He was being groomed to be an artist for GM, but he chose instead to risk his life helping others. :)

He did get a pretty bad back injury once when a ceiling fell onto him during a fire, but he managed.

My brother in law was fire chief in his community and his son was a volunteer fireman for many yrs before becoming a police officer. Fireman and police officers don’t always get the respect they deserve.

Yeah, but they get good pay, good insurance and pensions :) All for an often thankless job. I once aspired to be a firefighter, too, but at the time I was young enough to start a career, women weren't allowed. It was not until I was in my 30s that I heard about women being hired as firefighters. By then, I already had a career going that I loved. Sigh.

Did anthony nominate himself? @cactus_jack I missed that. Or more likely forgot it. Anyway, our president has to be an American born person, supposedly, however, it seems that Obama got around that one somehow, so I am sure @anthony could too, if it came down to it. I'd support Anthony for president. Frankly, though, I doubt he would have time. It is a demanding job! And running this forum takes enough of a toll already, I am sure!

Depends upon which news stories one listened to, I guess, or which ones seemed to make more sense. I might have missed a few important ones too. I kept hearing ones that said a birth cert was not produced when it had been requested. I guess I stopped paying attention after that. Sorry.
