Totally agree. My dog would make a better SCOTUS justice, even in his present condition, which is dead. He's been gone over 30 years and we still miss him terribly.

I just realized that, as an old while male, I'm oppressed. And sometimes, *[sniffle]* it's so hard! I just wish I could say what I want and get what I know I deserve without all the accusations of being a racist or a groper. It just isn't *[sniffle]* fair! All these women and minorities keeping me and my *[sniffle]* friends tied down. It's like they're taking over! Doesn't anyone understand? *[sniffle]* Anyone? Please!

I am feel like I owe the women of this country an apology. I kept my hopes alive that this creep would be kept off the Supreme Court. But the powers that be we're never going to allow that to happen. Now we have TWO Supreme Court Justices that are proven sexual preditors.

We don't actually have that YET. This vote was to end the discussion. There will be one more vote, in or out, probably this weekend.

But, YOU don't owe the women of this country an apology. YOU haven't done anything wrong, as far as I know. I feel kind of bad for you, for my T, and for all the other good male citizens of our country. (I've had more than one conversation with my T where I tried to assume HIM that I know "all men don't talk like that in the locker room" etc.) Many of my favorite people are men. :)

Listening to the speechifying this morning....... Well, I know that there were people who were terrified of President Obama. Nothing he could do was ever going to be ok and that was that. I never understood where that came from. Still don't and I've asked a few for explanations. I find myself feeling basically the same way about Trump. Except I THINK I have coherent reasons. But then, so did those who feared Obama, right? Even though they couldn't explain them to me? Sometimes it seems not so much like we each have our own version of reality, but we each live in our own tribal delusions. This ISN'T a GOOD thing, is it? But, what do we do about it? I don't think we can leave the solution to our so called leaders because most of them aren't doing much beyond fanning the flames.

I thank you @scout86. My feelings come from that place where there are decent men in this world.

As for what can we do to affect change in the perceptions of people. I'm not sure. I'm pinning my hopes on our children's generation, (the millennials). They seem to be more open minded and companionate towards the whole of humanity than I remember even our generation being. Which is a hard thing to understand. After all, we fought for equal rights didn't we? Yet here we are denying those rights to victims of sex crimes if they're rich and powerful enough. I guess that just shows you the "me to" movement will only reach so far.

I'm just so sad about all of this. I can't bear to even look at my emails or watch/listen to the news anymore. This is just such a crime.
