This is why I ask-
Google "Washington State Human Rights Commission" and "Washington State Tenants Union". Those two sites should help.

There is a website that I moderate at where my specialty is in landlord-tenant relations. Ben there for a number of years, and I have a pretty good idea where to look for help. Not a promise anything will happen, though. But it is a step in he right direction.

For some reason I don't have enough posts to add links....? Go figure.

Does it escalate? When to involve police? Just moved last month. Very verbally abusive neighbor l...

So glad you are moving forward, it's people who stand up to bully behavior are the biggest hero's. It's takes time for local resources but eventually it starts to move. Hang in there. I don't have the head space to tackle them. Is there a temp place for your dog?

Fingers crossed on that I found a new place. Applications (big triggers for me….), but should know day or so. And just move. Relator showing for client. Bella and me, well recieved from first email contact to texting to meeting.

Amazing was a gal I have gotten to know at the grocery store. Serena! Spoke last week about having to find place and we ran into each other in store, she inquired and I told her of a potential place. She asked where and I gave on street address. She burst out, I used to live there at ####. Same address. Goose bumps. She loved it until her family outgrew it. Lovely, quiet, good for dogs and walking (which I am trying to further few feet a day). Serena says she is a Yedi. Believer.

Should know if accepted in next day or so.

What can the police do? A restraining order of 50 feet. I am so wrecked from move. Have to move....
I know what that's like. Moving is one of the most stressful and exhausting things that people do. My advice is to unpack only your necessities because you may have to move again. If the inspector closes down the trailer, you will need to be ready to leave because if the landlord has neglected the place that badly, it's unlikely he will pay to have it repaired. You have to find another place to move to. Get the government involved with that, if they will help. You can probably, through your local tenant-landlord office ask your government to assess damages and/or moving expenses to be paid to you by your landlord if the inspector deems the place unfit to live in. It's great you got the police involved. You're getting everything in place. You're doing a good job! Take photos and record conversations with him with your cell phone. Have it turned on whenever you expect he will be around.

Update. Moved. Miracle of timing. Out of that hell. Finding out more since move. My car while at the last place was starting to have odd issues, doors not unlocking as normal, and what seemed an oil leak (never a drop prior 200K). Then engine light at one point came on. Only time ever so went to have an oil change. Place did a safety etc check. One shock is leaking. Said it did not look like normal wear and tear.

Truly was a scary place. This feels like it could be a home. With the holidays and family and moving I am crawling, but in a safe place.

Thank you all for your insights. It is just a rental. And the other odd aspect is that from Craigslist someone keeps renting the place (not the owner) and scamming. They knock on my door and I have meltdown. 3 days of first of last month, and now again.

Ironic was my mother stopping by (HA, last on the list and never with a planned time of being there or for how long) and and old man knocked loud at the back door. I am renting this place he said. Well no, I live here and it is not for rent. Said he was just about to send off security deposit out of state to secure. It was teeter totter, me trying to make a lunch. Dissociated, while she wanted to invite him in and say how sorry she was that he was being abused. SNL material.

All good. Door locks, police informed, CL flag, mom pleased with herself. Me in a bath tub soon to soak.

Awesome!
Some of the best news I've heard in a long time. :joyful::)
I'm smiling on the outside imagining the goings on with the snl skit and smiling deeply on the inside sensing you have some comfort in your new surroundings. It is so long overdue.

You've given me great encouragement to keep going as I struggle through a chilly winter.
