Weekly Social Weight Loss And Exercise Catch Up

My goal is to gain weight and I have gained 10 kg. over the last three months (whoohoo!). Being underweight generally makes me feel really down and hopeless. When I last weighted myself and I was 68 kg (I'm 1.78 meters), I danced around the room like an idiot.

I go running every week. Don't have a standard schedule, but I run at least one day a week, when I feel up to it. Sometimes I do have to force it, then the first 3km are a struggle, but after that it gets easier. I go run in a different area every week, maybe I could post some pictures to motivate others.

I can also offer running advice and support to anyone who wants to get into that ;-)

I just weighed myself, so now I know I would like to lose 20 to 25 pounds. Anything would help. My husband and I are going to begin bike riding training to get ready for a charity ride in the fall - a 50 km ride. I hope that will keep me on track too.

Breakfast was Special K with sliced banana (I don't usually eat breakfast) and a coffee.

Someone needs to equate the measurements between countries! lol I am not internationally equipped.

But count me in. I've lost 13 lbs. over the last 3 months through changing diet. However, I need to lose at least 10 more to help my knee pressure as well as cholesterol.

Hi,

I am really excited about the response I have had as I really didn't think anyone would reply, wether you want to lose weight gain weight or have food problems, I think someone on here will help support others, we have all been through so much let's all ban together. WE ARE All SO MUCH STRONGER AS ONE JOINED TOGETHER THAN ALONE

Really there wouldn't be much that anyone could say or think, that one of us hasn't been through or known someone that has been through the same, we have all been through a lot so let's use it to our advantage and start working towards all been more healthily.

The weight scale is:

1 kilo = 2.2lbs. I just googled it .... What did we all do before google ?

Once again thank you so much for all helping each of us

Take care
Sammy I am green eggs and ham !

My doctor told me I am in danger of getting Diabetes, and I need to walk 20 minutes, 3 times per day every day of the week. She wants me to walk after each meal. UGH!

I joined a weight loss/ exercise group that meets once per week on Monday nights at 6PM. We weigh ourselves every morning first thing when we wake. We keep an email going between us every day and we each have a partner to share more personal stuff with on the phone. I weighed 187 pounds before I even heard of the group and started by taking sugar out of my diet before I even had heard of the group. I lost 9 pounds, just by not eating sweets and not buying them either. If I don't have it in the house, I can't eat it!

When I started with the group, we were told that eating 1300 calories per day and exercising 30 mins per day as well would help us to lose one pound per week. So I got a scales (I had not even owned one) and started with the plan. At the start of the group, I weighed 176.6 and now I weigh 170.8 pounds. We have been at this for about 7 weeks now. We watch videos too, Bible Studies about weight loss. The one we are doing right now is called MADE TO CRAVE by Lysa TerKeurst. We will be doing one called THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE next. These usually have books that go with them and we have homework to do too.

One of the things our group strongly believes, just like the AA (OA) groups believe, is that one needs a Higher Power in order to succeed at this. Through white knuckling and our own willpower alone, we too often lose. It is an uphill battle and without God's help, it sometimes is just plain impossible not to overeat. I believe strongly in our group, I am having success and that counts. It is a lot harder to lose weight one one's own (or to gain it either). The group is a great bunch of supportive folks. I stand by them.

So count me in here, I can always use some more support!

I'm in! I gained the diabetes due (in part I think) to my risperidone meds. Then switched to abilify and went paleo at the same time and have lost a ton. Still need to lose more though. I'm supposed to be exercising every day now due to the diabetes, so maybe this can help me keep on track. :)

I am exercising but it makes me so hungry! lol And my scale is not cooperating.:blackeye: It gave me three different weights in less than three minutes! So I am being cautious and not rejoicing until I see the same weight for several days or get on the gym scale!

Today, (well yesterday as it is 12:14AM here) I walked 10,096 steps or 4.46miles but it took 4hours+ 25minutes for me to get it all in. I burnt 2,702 estimated calories but ate only 1441. Oh, at the gym Friday, I was 143 pounds. :grumpy:

I spoke to a nutritionist and in order for me to get all the needed stuff, I do 1500 calories (when I am behaving). At 1200 or less calories, I have to depend on absorption of vitamins (which may or may not take). Then I eat more the next day.

So that's my target again 1500 calories. It is slower, but I am trying to make it a life style change not a diet. I like to get back to 133-135 lbs. this year.
