Weekly Social Weight Loss And Exercise Catch Up

@Sammyiam
In the US, you can request a nutritionist and a doctor or sports physical therapist that can assist with an exercise program tailored to your need set with meds or a illness. I went to one at a free clinic (while I qualified) just a few months ago. Can you do this?

The nutritionist helped me understand the many areas in which I was eating empty carbs, too much meat and which areas were fattening in some of the veggies as well as fruit. I lost ten pounds over several months.

But it wasn't until I got the Jawbone Up24 that I really saw where I lacked- exercise. This device helped me loose the next 10 pounds that hung on. I now am at the original target weight and have set another for 2 more to loose to be back where I was 5 years ago. However,I still need to tone some areas and sometimes my illness gets in the way.

I am very highly motivated. I am so sick and tired of being this way. I want my self esteem to be better than it is with all of the weight I have put on.

I think going to my doctor for help is a excellent idea.

For me it was the paleo lifestyle and exercise. (But that may not be the right lifestyle for everyone.) I had been eating a tremendous amount of carbs without knowing it, but once I cut those things out, I started to slowly come down. It's taken most of a year to do it. But it can happen. Don't lose hope.

@Bickslow I edited your above post slightly, because it bordered on self-promotion, which is against forum rules. I have assumed you mean to only help by answering questions here, not referring yourself for services, so I only edited the contact you aspect, as I also appreciate your expertise in helping people manage their weight by answering questions... but please just be careful and stay on the side of personal advice / opinion, and not professional services offered.

I went up a little bit but I believe it is just water, since it is only one day, and I haven't eaten enough calories to even make a pound of fat. Nor have I eaten anything fattening. Slow going, but that is for the best right? I think I read that you have a better chance at retaining the loss if it goes slow. Anyone know if that is true? That would make it worth it to me. Maybe I wouldn't be so discouraged.

Slow weigh loss is consistent weight loss! Without getting to in depth, if you take your time and allow your body to adjust to "losing" rather than "gaining" it won' be so surprised it springs back the first chance it gets. Generally, of course slightly dependent on height/age/gender/weight, 1-2 pounds a week MAX is what you should strive for. Weight loss at that rate is not only sustainable, but supports a rate the body can withstand, and maintain! Weight doesn't come on over night, nor does it come off over night; it takes time, and if you give it an honest good while to work, I have every faith it can succeed for you :)
