Welcome Home Vietnam Vets Day 03-29-14

I was ask to come to the Veterans Park in Las Cruces, NM today, as it was Welcome Home Vietnam Vets Day.....I though this would be a good test on how I would be with the Beast. I did OK......

Here are a few pics.......For you Marines, it has 3 sides and turns in the wind and one for you Special Forces....guys.....

I can't remember the tribe, but they did a tribal blessing for our fallen comrads......

Congressman Steve Pearce, a Vietnam Vet, 3 tours as an Air Force C130 Pilot. Nice guy.....

I have made a friend that works for Congressman Pearce, his name is Joe and he works helping us vets. Joe has been working (for 8 years) to add a Vietnam Mermorial to the park. Today was the ground breaking for the new Mermorial.....

Lastly, I had the privage to meet the Great, Great, Great Grand Daughter of Geronimo. She said a prayer in her Native Apache language, for all our Fallen Comrads.....Even though I did not understand a word of it, it was wonderful....

Very nice, I must say. I personally feel split on these things. Part of me is like 'great, only 40+ years too late' and the other is the desire for some recognition and respect for what we did. I'm glad you went. Thanks for the post.

May 24, 2014 (Memorial Day) will have a reading of Iraq/Afghan names at the Vietnam Memorial in Washington.

We need a memorial for those who served and died in those wars. I would like to see one where everyone, including the Brits, Canadians, Spanish, Polish, Australian, New Zealanders, ...every country was represented somehow. They were truly a huge combined force.
