Thank you
@ladee ! :( Thank God great vet had very good replacement since not in today- it seems it is what I feared, what they call HGE- Hemorrhagic GastroEnteritis, but they could not confirm numbers as couldn't draw blood (needle sample failed to get enough-I do not know why but they didn't repeat). Gave anti nausea shot and 90$ of antibiotics I can;t get down her yet as she has the 'sock puppet look' (will stick them down if I must but letting shot hopefully kick in) in the hopes it's bacterial from beach water (advisory last day and it's a common cause), but don't have confirmation of what type of bacteria. If not it's systemic (the vet said a very serious disease; not really HGE then but the consequence of it). But hopefully not. They are going to call tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. when they open to see how she is fairing. Thank God I am off tomorrow, for the good vet, and for the $ to pay it, since they charge other fees too. Also got her in in 45 minutes. And her very experienced great vet back tomorrow. She couldn't stay there she was so abused she would be worse off, out of sight of her 'mom'.
If you ever see it in HD (I surely hope not) it is unmistakably odd as the stool blood is raspberry colored, looks like total blood and like watery mucous (not bright red like hemorroids or black like GI upper tract, agh sorry for TMI, -never seen it in over 40 years of dogs). She hasn't thrown up again though, since the morning. But she's looking rough. :( She won't even touch milk, and that's her favorite, though she licked and dropped a tiny piece of a baby cookie (also her favorite). :( Not worried about food but have to get fluids in her, and antibiotics.
She always had an 'iffy' stomach like her 2nd-mom though, too. :(
I am only afraid because she acted totally out of her nature with the bloodwork, screamed (not barked) when the girl tried to draw it, and though holding her tight they came up with so little. And though entirely gentle it was like it was hurting more and more and at one point she would have taken a chunk out if she could- totally not 'her'. :( Hoping the tech just missed the vein or collapsed when she moved.
Also, Sheppies are weird as they present well under 'threat'(like at the vet), but now that we're home she's very non-responsive, yet not sleeping. :( But I don't want to fear what Idk, and vet said we will hope for the best, so I am just starting here and hope she will improve. She's definitely looking like a very sick dog though. :(:cry:
Thank you so much :hug::hug::hug:
