Unfortunately my tortie died a few months ago. Nietzsche was a great support cat. Cinnabon was adopted as a companion for Smokey my current support cat. She came with the name from the shelter.

Both of my current cats are young, but they try to fill the space left by Nietzsche's little paws.

I saw a tiny baby yesterday at work, days old I'd guess. It was flat out on it's mother's shoulder, looking so peaceful and content. What struck me was the relaxed way the mother was holding it, with just one hand keeping the baby in place. It looked so right somehow. I'm so used to seeing parents with their baby's coddled up as if they're too fragile to touch.

I was reading in Vogue Magazine at my Dr.'s office about what is in style for folks these days. Stripes are in, I guess, from all the photos I saw. Then I saw a young girl at the Dr.'s office wearing a striped top and tight black pants to match it. She was cute too, short blond hair, pretty face.

Our church has a lot of children in it and since I sit in the choir loft, I can see all of them when they come up front for communion. Oh they are so sweet. I was never able to have kids of my own, so it is a treat to have all of them to see, to talk with and so on.

I was out for a walk on Sunday, and a female weasel ran past my foot and into the bracken, she darted out for a second look, shiny fur and brilliant eyes. she must have been all of six or seven inches long from the tip of her nose to the end of her little tail.

I sat down in the road and squeaked, she wasn't fooled.

Still feeling guilty about accidentally running a young male weasel over a few weeks ago.

A lingering visit at the garage door of a brown/black hummingbird yesterday evening. It just was seemingly curious and hung there hovering for a few extra seconds than the usual (PEOPLE... get out of here!) thing. Mr. Oatmeal though tried but he couldn't see it.

Yes, humming birds are so adorable. I once saw a ruby throated one, which was green up close, it was only a couple of feet away from me on the other side a bay window I was sitting in. So cute! Gosh they are so tiny too. @The Albatross

My cat likes to come and lie on my chest when I get into bed. A couple of nights ago he did so and somehow ended up with each of his rear legs straddling me like a starfish. I couldn't see it but I could visualise it and the image was so undignified I had to keep myself from laughing so as not to upset him.

I have a starfish, it is adorable. I bet he was adorable too. I am happy for you that you were able to see him as if you were outside your body. What a rare treat.
