I am often discouraged when I think about the massive gaps in my knowledge of social interaction. I was able to do well most of the time with school and college and that kind of structured setting with clear obligations. That is not like life though. Those kinds of situations are fine for education, hell probably optimal for work when I can walk again. Not so ideal for social interaction though. I know, find structure in groups so the suggestion goes, but how do you find them? How do you even know what to look for? This is the real problem for me. I know it is possible, I just don't know how to go at it. I want to ask everyone who reads this a question and hope they will give some kind of response. Apart from ones related to this problem, what kinds of groups are people here involved with? Through your work, hobby groups, training, anything you can think of, please tell me. I need some starting points to look at.

Hmm well I'm not very socially active either. I do a lot of things by myself, like drawing and computer programming. I do belong to a mountaineering club though, for rock and mountain climbing. I go climbing about once a week currently. I go to church with my family. I am considering taking martial arts again, I have a brown belt in tae kwan do, but I haven't done it for years. Same thing with flying, I was in air cadets and I got my pilot's license but I never kept it up. You need to log a certain number of flight hours every year. That's about it for me.

Thanks Evie. You are pretty physical, climbing and flying both seem like very strenuous things to do. I am guessing you like being off the ground. Some ideas shaken out of my memory from that. It has reminded me of some of the things I was thinking about back when things were going well last year. Your art is an expression of your creativity. Since this all happened I haven't drawn much myself. When required of course I did something, but now this is a good opportunity to do make a greater effort. Something else comes to mind now too. Writing. It requires creativity too though, and I have not been good at that. I can't write without some kind of objective. Rewriting sure, adding related details is easy, but starting anything takes me several weeks. More active things too. Fencing was something I was thinking about, had read some things about and researched some, but I doubted I could do it then. I might have been able to do it before but now that is all a long way off. Still, that is something to look at again, something I had completely forgotten about till now. Does anyone fence? I have thought about Akido a little, I vaguely remember looking at that some point but it is far off too. Some real ideas from your post Evie, thanks again.
