Also, A parent, sibling, friend, or spouse not speaking to a person for long periods of time is a form of torture/punishment if that person is dependent on them.

Re starvation, in my opinion it does stand separately. It's uniquely difficult to work through, ie I find it much much easier to deal with rape and severe violence memories than starvation. Fear of death from starvation messes with my head more than the near-death experiences from violence.

But if it does have to be lumped under another category, I would choose Family, not Torture. Because if you put it under Torture, then everything else that happened to me (sexual assaults, violence, repeated suffocations etc) would fall under that category.

Sorry to go on about it. Starvation as trauma is still a raw nerve for me.

Herc... valid point, though it is not about categorizing people, it is about categorizing trauma. You are referring to yourself and a symptom, not your trauma itself. You don't suffer PTSD due to amnesia, but instead you have amnesia of certain events due to your past trauma; which is categorized already if my memory serves me correctly.

Seychelle... all valid, though you are just referring to yourself and your situation. If a person is intentionally starved, it is a "torture technique" within abuse, or it is typically military torture.

If I created a group "Torture", then you could create a sub-group, "Starvation" at your descretion. This is not about sub-groups, but main big picture titles for types of trauma. This is in no way attempting to dismiss your trauma, nor is this the thread for your traumas discussion, as that is off-topic.
