What Moved You Emotionally Today?

I was moved by the news about the airplane accident in France...I was shocked when I heard that it was the co-pilot's suicide and that he killed 149 other people with himself. I was overwhelmed with pain, fear, compassion...

And I was moved by the reaction of a hotel's receptionist. They had a fraudster in their hotel and I called to get more information. I already had contact to that lady in former cases and she sounded so joyful when she said "Oh! It's you! Glad to hear from you!"...seems like she kept me in good memory.

@Anrish was it suicide? I just heard on the radio that the man had a burnout but didn't hear about that yet. How awful! I don't listen to the news very much because so many awful things happen and I can't get them out of my head then... How could you take all these people with you into your death? How egoistic are you then? Unimaginable!

@Recovery4Me Yes I agree :) It makes you see what you took for granted when you were healthy. I have this in my job when I see sick people or people who can barely breathe, it makes you think about how happy you can be if you can breathe normally and can walk etc..

I ran into this guy as I was walking into the store that I knew. He stopped me and we began to talk. He mentioned seeing doctors and I told him that I had these stitches in my back.

His voice immediately changed and in a very soft voice, he asked me, if I was okay. I told him that I was, etc. but the change in the tone of his voice, moved me. He showed me concern and I am grateful for that. I didn't expect that.

I was moved today by a photo on Facebook. I follow a photographer's photos there that is called HUMANS OF NEWYORK. In it the photographer shares photos of folks in N.Y.C. and then a caption that the person has said about their self. Today's photo is of a little girl dressed in a fairy costume and she says that she wants to be a dancer. He asked her what was the best thing about being a dancer and she says dancing. Then he asks her what the worst thing about it is and she says dancing in front of people. I just smiled and smiled and was moved to a kind of admiration and love for that child. I took dancing lessons when I was a kid and I could totally relate!

I was at my work and this elderly woman who is 90 years old had left three messages on the voicemail (I'm a physical therapist) because she had extreme pain in her neck and shoulders since she bumped into something with her car. She almost begged in the voicemail for me to come and help her. So I went at the end of the day to her home and she was so happy that I came. I gave her a massage and it helped her a bit. I was happy about that. This is a new job for me so a lot of people don't know me yet and prefer to go to the one they do know for years now: My boss. So I'm afraid of rejection a lot of times (which I always am in my life) but she said that she trusted me. I thought that was so sweet! (she'd only seen me twice)

And this other woman asked me if I could find trigger points in her muscles because this other woman had told her that I'd done that so well for her and it had really helped. That was very nice to hear. It's so nice when people appreciate your job.

@SheilaKathy good luck with your eye! I hope it'll be over soon and won't give you too much pain!

I was moved by the colleague of mine who I've been trying to encourage because he's so hardworking. He's being noticed by others now and it's giving him extra confidence to come out of his shell. Today I left him in charge of one department and when I went back to check on him after he'd gone I found he'd left everything in such good order- bordering on OCD, it was actually sweet (and also funny).

Yesterday I was walking in the woods with my parents and their dog when we saw a tiny rabbit with one closed eye and there was something wrong with the other eye too. We called some place where you can bring animals and tried to catch the little one. That took a while and the poor thing was so afraid, breathing quickly while in my hands. Sadly enough when we got to the people who could help it seemed that the rabbit was very ill with Myxomatose, a very infectious disease for rabbits. So they had to let her sleep in. But I'm glad we took the rabbit so she wouldn't die a more painful death or maybe even be taken by other animals. And maybe we saved some other animals by becoming infected. The poor thing. It did make me a bit sad, how afraid she must have been being blind and helpless in the woods. I was moved by the good work those people do by trying to help sick or hurt animals. I'm glad there is a place now where you can find help if you find a wounded animal.
