My first was a situation, by i guess it was caused by a stranger seeing as it was a hit and run incident. My second was also a stranger.

Friends, family and strangers. So I pick the friend opption because most of the traumas belong in that section.

Chose friend/aquaintance. But it was actually my boyfriend/husband, I didn't realize he was a sadistic sociopath til about a week after I moved in. Whoops, too late.

I chose the familial category too. Primary abuser was father. Primary enabler was mother. Glad I didn't have to choose between the two of them as primary - used to think it was my father, obviously, but sometimes... well, sometimes I wonder what does the most lasting damage - brutality/sadism or utter condemning rejection. Perhaps the child and the adult in me would need to argue about that.

And hey, sometimes the cynical part of me wishes there was a category for "the world in general".

It was my mother, father, brother and sister that all abused me. So you know what my choice was.

20 years of military service, two wars, being lied to my the war criminals George Bush and Dick Cheney, being promised things by congress, only to have them taken away, being threatened with death by subordinates in the military but having no recourse in punishing them or ensuring my safety, The guilt of not doing more (even though I did my best) to make sure our airplanes were ready to fly at a moments notice to protect our troops on the sands and in the streets of Iraq, the list goes on, and on, and on...

My "primary abuser" was two people: my mother & an employee of my mom's who lived with us in our home for years. the poll should let us choose more than one; it is not an either/or situation for me, they were both my worst abusers.
