I'd think it's more some cognitive/processing disorder than typical blindness, but that said, disabled & D.I.D. brains do some rather interesting stuff. Not saying unexplainable. Not saying defying reality. Just interesting, needing more research.

Had a physically totally blind multie friend, who was just suure in some states she sees more, and accurately within possibility, people close to her confirmed on it. I'm not that level of blindness physically, but if there's interesting to circumvent brains can do in some conditions, I'm more than curious to learn what it is and how to employ it.

Um, pun not intended, but I could see that...psychogenic blindness.
It would be logical.
