It's hard having to isolate when you have no one. It's worse when you're dealing with grief. It's just so hard when there is no support.
Amen! Dealing with this too! Even with therapy (over the phone). It's so very lonely!
You know. If these protesters all had masks on and stood 6 feet or more from each other, they would have a point. But standing in large groups, inches from each other's faces, without any masks, saying that they know that they need to wear masks and social distance.

Like, the f*ck?
The Coronavirus: German Doctors Highlight Shortage Of Masks By Posing Naked In "Blanke Bedenken" Protest
Can you imagine seeing one of your doctors in this? Oh my word! The only one I wouldn't complain about is my therapist cause he is oh so hot! A 60 something that looks like a 40 something. Yes, my therapist knows. I've said this to him lol. But, still. Do they think of their patients when they do this shit?

Oh, doctor, i saw you protesting...ummm...nude! Like, oh my god!
I am going to have so many issues now being in a medical clinic again after the pandemic.

So. Many.

I did not need another. Some things are just better left unseen.
Yes!

So they get $600 a week but not the one time $1,200? $600 a week is $1,200 every two weeks. Way more then I make every paycheck (every 2 weeks).

Oh Christ don't even let me get started. Extremely shortsighted, but not surprising. Same as with whoever posted the other stuff about options "but you get to keep your medical".

"how do you freeze milk?" OMFG.

Off the thread... you all are too picayune for me.

Thanks @The Albatross I've learned a new word as a result of your last post! Seriously good word! :hilarious: I'm going to incorporate it into my vocabulary now. Well not right now but coming soon.

It's got an air of superiority about it don't you think? ;) :cautious:

This is a thread about how we're all coping. There's lots of scope there?

I'm thinking the freezing of milk has to do with self isolation and making money go farther.

For me? Struggling to cope with the sheer size of the number of fatalities & uncertainty about what the future might look like pops into my mind frequently.

Trying to switch off from how helpless I feel is another issue I have regarding covid19.

I'm hearing commentators all speak about what we'll do when this is all over, finished or on the other side. But hanging on till that happens means learning new things. Even basic food preservation for some has to be learned and applied now. If food can be found & bought even?

I'm fortunate in so many ways but still facing a different set of problems. No more or less important?

After all this is a thread on the worldwide impact of the virus.

We all are having different challenges during this. Some with monetary issues, food and supplies, medical and MH problems...

There is no need to shame anyone here. Ever.

Nothing nice, supportive or helpful to add?? Scroll along.

Plus, things that annoy me and things that actually stress me out? Different things. And I'm more likely to talk about the mild irritations (I'm bored, everyone is being stupid and ignoring lockdown, I wish I could see my friends). Because the stuff that stresses me out, stresses everyone else out to hear about (blahblah nursing on a palliative covid ward, blahblah the assumptions people have about that and how I can't comment cos blahblah reasons)

I'm not sure this thread about people's experiences accurately reflects how people are feeling or dealing with this. Never mind accurately showing what kind of person they are.

You were so much more diplomatic and kind than I am capable of being right now. I am so tired of seeing evidence of scathing denigration. Not everyone is coping with the same things. Not everyone has the same resources.

People are really hard today. I am so angry. I'm sitting in the UK talking to friends from the US. My main take aways from the conversation is that I am so glad I got out of the country when I did.

@blackemerald1 Good reply :)

As @Chris-duck said, for many of us this thread is a distraction. I was enjoying the milk conversation. Today, I'm realy struggling, mostly because of covid. Thinking about freezing milk is a hell of a lot worrying about how long it will take me and what long term damage I'm going to face. And all the other fears that come with having it. I'm grateful for this thread and when it gets into areas I don't like or am not interested in, I don't read. I certainly don't denigrate those posting. This is a support forum after all.

Florida is going into Phase 1 (He is De Santis, our governor):

- Walk up testing sites and way more contact tracing
- Schools are staying closed for the rest of the school year
- Visitors allowed to those in hospital
- Elective surgeried allowed
- Retail is allowed to open and 25% of people indoor
- Bars, gyms, and hairdressers are still closed but he said will re-evaluate gyms
and hair dressers
- 65 yr old or have underlying conditions are still to social distance
- Face masks if you cant social distance and recommended but not 100% required (I wish it was)

To go to phase 2:
- Hospital compasity
- monitoring hospital bed
- He mentioned to be careful to say "cases are spiking" because it has relationship to testing so he's going by positivity numbers.
- watching those that go to hospitals fot cough and fevers

He also mentioned longterm facities. Not only ensuring that the workers take their temp before going to work, and having PPE but seems to be ramping up testing and contact tracing.

He said that he's not putting a time table on things but are going to go off the trends and even do different things per county, depending on the cases. South Florida has the most, it seems and he said probably those from NY going into South Florida not knowing they are spreading it. He mentioned his newborn and that no one in his family has held her. Except to give birth, they haven't left the house in months. I can feel that one!
