The discussion locally is already starting to head towards: why don't we just let everyone get back to their livelihood and let Corona run its course?

This virus is going to infect everyone susceptible to it, because there is no treatment at present for an estimated 12 - 18 months.

People are now killing themselves because their livelihoods have disappeared overnight.

Experts say that approximately 20% of populations will get sick from this (symptoms). Of that 20% only 5% of that figure may die. We are limiting that number by destroying millions of livelihoods in order to control hospitalisation influx.

Do we let it run its course and stop all lockdowns, or is this really worth it?

For every 1 million people - 200,000 will get symptoms and feel sick from this.

From that 200,000 who display symptoms - 10,000 will roughly be severe and likely to die.

10,000 approximate lives in every million lives vs. healthy families breaking down, healthy people killing themselves from loss of everything, businesses closed that will never reopen, livelihoods completely destroyed, entire country economies are being decimated, financial infrastructure destroyed.

10,000 per million vs. total chaos and destruction of the world financially?

Before anyone asks - yes, I'm ok if I'm one of those 10k in a million dying. It is what it is. This will fully run its course regardless. You can't stop this with periodic isolation. Borders will open, the virus will popup again. We are merely choosing to save lives over saving country economies.

What would you choose? Have we become to PC in society to accept what is?

Housing markets are crashing. Total industries are disappearing overnight. People are scared to go near one another.

Is it all really worth it?
