You Know You Have PTSD When...

You know you have PTSD when.....you're driving around and around a carpark, and have this nagging feeling that you've forgotten something but can't figure out what it is. After the tenth lap of the carpark it hits you: Sh*t! I forgot to park the car!

You know you have PTSD when....you arrive home from work, park in the garage, go inside, put the kettle on and then realise OMG you didn't pick up your two year old from day care after work!! You then begin to panic, grab the keys and rush out to the car. You get in the car and turn it on. You look in the review mirror to reverse down the driveway............and you see your two year old son strapped into the toddler seat, calmly waiting!!

Ok, not so funny but you know you have PTSD when..........within a five minute period you go from being happy and playful, to punching the pantry door, to crying fetal position on the bed. You're husband is confused and questions your behaviour, you tell him it is all his fault for purposefully irritating you and he should know that. His only response is "please stop screaming like that, you sound like a crazy lady". Wasn't funny for me at the time, but with a bit of perspective can see the humour...

You know you have PTSD when you can't even remember how to address an envelope. Even worse when you call to get the address you have to ask to have the zip code repeated 4x's because you can't comprehend what the secretary is saying.....

And to make this even better: It's the Mental Capacity Assessment Form for my disability!

not sure I do it too, at work and at home as I look at piles of stuff in the floor. View attachment 4035
inventory this... LOL a veiw into the back of my poor car. It may look like choas, but its not. At back your looking at 2 tool bags 100 pounds each, a ammo box of tools and umm a drain/sewer machine *umm its not your eyes, it is blurred thanks to shakes*

Now THIS is a good Idea for a thread - "Show us your trunk", a true indication of ones personality. From the Type A's with everything in it's place to those with things thrown in and that have gone undiscovered for years!

ISH

LOL I have a full emergency kit in my car with extra car fluids in it, a wind up flashlight/cell phone charger, and heavy duty jumper cables.

You know you have PTSD when your landlord mentions you never answer his calls and you have to explain that part of your PTSD is being harassed by phone so you never answer it anymore.

When you have to switch out of 'get it done mode' because it happens to actually be 'completely spaz and freak out about doing things mode'.

Its the things you cant see, the car has a trunk... Its packed, floor jack, frame jack (house framing *used to lift floor joists), 4 road flares, R-22 and R-410A refrigeration gauges, 1 tree saw, 1 trenching tool, 1 small shovel, 1 hand trowel, 1 6" pipe cutter, 1 oxy/acetylene torch, 1 24" pipe wrench, 1 30" pipe wrench, 1 28" channel lock pliers, 2 30" pry bars, 1 30" flat head screw driver, 1 30" cross point screw driver, 1 18 volt dewalt sawzall, 1 18 volt dewalt hammer drill, 1 come-a-long, 1 30ft chain, jumper cables, 4 way tire lug wrench, 1 3/4drive craftsman dial tork ratchet, and 1 1" drive break over bar.

you know you have PTSD when your prepared to have to get our car out of a ditch even when you live in the city.
