You Know You Have PTSD When...

You laugh when you read in the preliminary investigation that the man who tried to rape you says he didn't even find you attractive. - Your therapist DOES NOT laugh nor see the humor in it, but your best friend(also having PTSD) does and says "how traumatic it must have been for him to try and rape someone he didn't even find attractive!" and you both break down laughing so badly your stomach hurt.

(it's good having friends with PTSD so you can be understood.. :) )

When you read an e-mail and because you're sick all you feel capable of doing is hit the "Like" button. So you keep looking and looking for it but can't find it! You get grumpy and give up. Only five minutes later do you realize it wasn't the forum and if you remember correctly, there is no "Like" option in e-mail. :wacky:

When you consider your self lucky to get one more year of trauma-therapy. And then get surprised when a friend gets upset with you and ask you how you can be grateful for the fact that you have suffered so many horrible traumas that you need one more year in trauma-therapy, or trauma-therapy at all.. You just had not thought about it that way.. :laugh:

:laugh: I too thought I could do that, and rushed trough the first year- then he told me I'll need at least one more year and I crashed since I'm so exhausted that I just can't keep up the pace anymore.. Much less one more year!! :laugh:

But when I met him the first time I told him that I wanted to be finished with trauma-therapy in 6 months or I would get angry with him... :eek::rolleyes::roflmao: I also told him I was "done" with processing my fathers abuse and that I refused discussing it anymore. !!!!!!!! :laugh::hilarious::roflmao::bag: - It's embarrassing to remember that now.. But it is a good laugh though..
