You Know You Have PTSD When...

You know you have PTSD when...

When You can clearly remember, at different ages, exactly what your body felt like, under the skin, at that time. Muscle memories I guess.

When you can't hang Xmas decorations on your front door - because it covers the peep hole.

When something as simple as the smell of the air can take you back.

When you check everything off your to-do list before going out, again and again, then finally grab your cell phone but can't find the fricking blue tooth for your ear! Spending that extra fifteen minutes looking for it is soooo frustrating, especially when you finally decide to get in the car and take off without it, then adjusting the rear view mirror discover it was in your ear the whole time :banghead: :wideeyed:

You know you have PTSD when you've had several nights of disturbed sleep, so you finally succumb to taking a sleep aid.

You stand over the sink, toss the pill towards the back of your mouth and take a big swig of water to chase it down. Then you turn 180' and face the cook stove to see if your dinner is ready. It's not: the burner wasn't turned on. So you turn on the burner, then turning back to the sink you ask yourself, "Why did I turn around? What the heck did I need at the sink?"

Suddenly, your mind recalls: "Oh, yea, I needed a sleep aid".

The pill is in your hand and as you bring it to your mouth something tells you to cuss: "S#!T, wait a minute!" Then ask, "Didn't I just take one?" Did I or did I not?" Then cuss again: "Cr@p!!! I can't remember." So you decide to put the pill back in its bottle because if you already took one, two is going to knock you on your a@@!!! And if you didn't take one before, and you're having this kind of memory problem, well, then these little pill are stronger than you think, so better not.
