Hello everyone,

I've decided to get real creative here and have some fun. Being that I've awakened the hidden writer within me, I've decided to have some fun with fictional writing and will be starting a series I am dubbing tales from the wall...

Sadly, since I don't know what the original artist had in mind when he planned and started this mural I don't know the full story behind this mural or even how it came to be because I was very young. Since I also don't know the names of the other characters in the mural or if they have names except for the three that I do know because I had the pleasure of briefly getting acquainted with the one responsible for finishing this project I know the man who drew and started painting this work, while also learning that I am a character portrayed in this mural.

So, Since I have inclusion rights to the project which is through a character based on me, I figured Why not do something fun, positive, that could server as a positive creative and constructive outlet with this and give that character a fictional life within the mural...

To make this even more fun, I am asking for contributions. If you feel able or want to contribute by all means feel free to do so.

An example would be asking the boy on the wall a question or just imagine being at the wall and having a conversation, that's acceptable too! This is meant to be an interactive and fictional role play for me and is in no way is a form of dissociation or destructive ploy!

Participation is completely voluntary! so if you don't want to or you do want to contribute that is completely fine by me. I really have no idea where I want to see this go aside from being a fun and creative outlet for me being that I was chosen to be a character (now with a breath of creative life) in a beautiful artwork on display in our public library. The room containing this mural is the children's room and is named after the original artist.

Unfortunately the section of the mural is not available in the cover, but if you view the cover separately you can view the full image. I am in the lower right section...

To get a full effect of what I am posting below you need to view the mural... I have done that through the inclusion of the mural in the cover.

I am going to start this with an outsider looking in perspective as a way of introduction. Yes! the wall speaks to those who choose to listen to whatever message the 'boy in the mural' has to say... The wall also has ears that listen too...

Yikes! The wall is alive... :p

"Hello and welcome to my world! An Alaskan Fairy tale. Around me are the woods that I have inhabited from the day that I was dreamed of like so many others who have been chosen to appear in this mural drawn and started by an artist by the name of William."

"I have four friends here, one, a boy like myself with blonde hair who I haven't had the pleasure of meeting, a pet wolf, and a woman who finished the mural and then there is of course William. (I will point these characters out to you later)."

"Off in the distance there is some kind of parade going on with several other people two who I know are the old man, William and the young woman who finished this world. There are some other people, of whom I don't know."

"The young woman's name was Trina, She is in here as is the man who created all this Alaskan Fairy Tale."

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

"Today I had fun! Everyday is fun for me really as one thing I get to do is watch the physical world that exists outside and around my own world. Sometimes people stop and look into my world; other times I busy myself with watching as various people pass through the room doing various things; like employees returning books to the various shelving, or people finding the books on the shelves within the large room the wall containing my world encloses. Never a day passes though when I am not occupied doing something."

"If anyone has any questions they want to ask me, Sean, the boy on the wall, feel free to ask me! This thread in ways is a bit of a fictional role play.":D

Why are people looking for books within the large room?
Why do they pass that way to look for books?
What is it that they might be seeking to learn?
What are they occupied doing that takes them in search of knowledge?
Do we know? Or do we have to guess what nefarious purpose they are up to?

You said to ask if we had "any" questions.
Maybe these don't follow the direction you were going.
But that's how life goes isn't it?
I have to get ready for work now.
I had those questions. Maybe irrelevant.
But I'll follow your link and get back....

@GrayOwl
Great questions! These are interesting to me and I will attempt to answer them...
Why are people looking for books within the large room?
@GrayOwl This large room within the outer world, the large library, where my world is the children's section of the library. They obviously come to this room for a variety of reasons...

Link Removed provides some information for the general public as well as a few pictures including a section of my world.

I especially like the close up of the parade occuring in my world that I mentioned earlier and need to note here that the artist (who died in 1979) is featured as is (although not as clearly) the second artist who is also in my world.

They may be looking for a specific children's book or maybe several that are shelved in the room or they may be coming to this room to participate in one or more activities that is catered to children that exist in this mysterious world which occurs within in this room.

This is most fascinating to me.

Why do they pass that way to look for books?
If I could find a photo of this room, maybe that would help me be able to better show this room.

What is it that they might be seeking to learn?
What are they occupied doing that takes them in search of knowledge?
Do we know? Or do we have to guess what nefarious purpose they are up to?
Unfortunately, These specific questions are a little out of my understanding as I am part of a painting and I am only an observer of that world.

I do thank you for your questions and I hope I have been able to provide some reasonable insight.

I did say ask if you have questions and those are were good ones! If I encounter a question that I feel I can't answer, then I will definitely answer that explaining that I don't know the answer and if I can I will see if I can find additional information I can provide.

Thank you so much!

If someone feels compelled to participate, I am open to possible name suggestions. The Boy in the painting on the wall does seem a little generic to me and after all this is fiction.

I don't want this response to this taken in the wrong context, but what I am going to here is have a little playful role play between the real me and this character me...

I am doing this as release of stress/anxiety from returning to my real workplace as a customer.

SeanCharles to the boy in the mural on the wall: Hi! How does being in the position you are in, you being in your world while also being a watcher in/of the the surrounding world that I occupy?

the boy in the mural on the wall to SeanCharles: Hello, SeanCharles! This position that I am in definitely passes time, even if I don't know what the concept of 'time' is or it's purpose really because I exist as a work of art that began as someone else's creation. Thanks to you though, you've brought me to life that makes this concept of being alive is truly a whole new concept to me. Being in my world and watching that other world definitely is fascinating to me and I am learning as I watch the people in your world observe me observing them.

SeanCharles to the boy in the mural on the wall: Are there any secrets that you'd like to share with me, or do you have any questions for me?

the boy in the mural on the wall to SeanCharles: How does it feel to you being in two worlds?

SeanCharles to the boy in the mural on the wall: Having you to communicate with is like having a friend I've known my whole life. Together, we are one in many ways! you being a representation of me living in the mural that is a part of my life is  to me because I can and will make the time to visit you/us and that world while being in my world while being able to also visit your/our world.

the boy in the mural on the wall to SeanCharles: In ways, I miss seeing you as I am sure you miss seeing me! I know that to outsiders looking in that visit our worlds may or may not know our story as we know this story they do in their own ways share and touch our worlds though.

SeanCharles to the boy in the mural on the wall: As much fun as this conversation was for me, we'll have to do this again soon! I will return you to the mural as I return to my world.

the boy in the mural on the wall to SeanCharles: Don't be a stranger! If that is possible... I don't think we can be strangers as we are connected and both of us share each other.

SeanCharles: That was quite fun! And through this little dialogue I feel much better. I realize that this conversation may not be understood by others but for me this whole depiction of myself in a mural in a public place where I live is a unique experience to me.

Update: from @SeanCharles I finally positioned the cover to include the section of the real mural with the section that contains the portrayal of me. (I am in the bottom right corner section!)

Tales from from the wall
written and shared by Sean "The boy in the mural on the wall"

The town (named Fairbanks) where the library is located has a parade every year which is known as the "Golden Days Parade" in celebration of the historic 'gold' discovery which occurred in the outskirts of town. This parade features a variety of floats and various antique cars from early years (50's and before and of course after) including a jail! This jail is seen around town prior to the parade and will serve warrants and arrest people at their places of work as a means to raise funds.

More to come! :)

The following thread post is another dialogue between the “real me” and “the boy on the wall”. I am sure that through this dialogue, we’ll learn more about him and in many ways together we’ll learn about me/us.

Narrated by (the real SeanCharles):
If you have not read what is my introduction post, then this will make no sense to you. If you’ve already read that post then you have a complete understanding of the purpose intended with this series of posts.

I hope you enjoy this post as much as I am enjoying myself writing this. If you feel able and wish to contribute questions, feedback or anything else to this project, as I am doing this purely fun and as a creative outlet for myself as well, I definitely don’t want to be alone in creating what I may not have originally created from scratch, but rather is truly another gift that I truly cherish as a gift of honor and holds a special meaning and purpose that in ways was lost and yet found and brings with that gift something that I feel I can share with others.
Thank you!

(I am virtually standing in the real world facing this mural which is above) and looking at the bottom right corner particularly looking into the mural at the “boy on the wall” while we make eye contact I say:

“Hello again! ‘boy on the wall’. I need to start our dialogue with a question for you.”

“Hello again, SeanCharles! I am so happy and glad to see you.”

SeanCharles: “In our last dialogue, I believe that we did a bit of an introduction, I however feel that we did not do that right, so if you’re comfortable, I will call you ‘Sean’ since I feel that is your name, or would you prefer me keep ‘boy on the wall?”

“Being that we are, I am perfectly okay if you are, with ‘Sean’ as I was created in your image!” My creator, created me that way.”

“You’re absolutely correct Sean!”

Now, that formality is cleared up once and for all…

Update:

During this past week of reuniting with family I was able to do a bit of research in my free time. I had finally posted this pic to a closed group that I a member of (fairly large) and I had completely forgotten until someone reminded me that the two boys and this wolf are from Roman Mythology! This section of the mural depicts two boys and a wolf! The myth is Romulus and Remus. In that myth, the two boys are brothers and the wolf (a she-wolf) suckled the two young brothers when they were abandoned infants!
