Its pretty good. Theres a good slidding bar where you can make it super hard if you want, theres a choice in games in varies (8 i thing, maybe more) area so it like many games in each and keeps my attention real well.

Its one of those lumisoity thing thats suppose to increase your thinking in certian areas so the thing is if you are in a certian degree of difficulty you should be increasing it eventually.

Lumiosity games are EXPENSIVE and I dont buy apps so yeah, cant do that so this is a good replacement.

Not bad. The idea is to keep my brain fully occupied so not bad. Id recommend it.

@lostforgottensoul

Okay so now I want to know what these puzzles are. I do have to have my brain occupied 24/7 but I do that by endlessly researching and reading stuff pertaining to my job and life.

I just now decided I have chronic pancreatitis, because I have nothing else to do but google the hell out of stomach aches with shoulder pain.

Its probably time for a puzzle. Can you please recommend one to someone with a low frustration thresh hold, that threw rubic cubes at walls like a gorilla with PMS in the 80's?

Thanks LFS

@coco9, it depends on what you like. This one "Brain Yoga" game has like 8 or so different ones and the difficulty can be adjusted to ridculously easy. So you control how hard it is. And they are all different.

I generally go for mazes, move the block certian ways to not fall off the platform, things that require some thoughts.

My favoite was Astrobomer. I didnt put it down until I beat it, which took a while. Rolling Cube was ok but beat it in like an hour. Wasnt enough levels.

Balance 3D was great until I got to an unbeatable level and that frustrated me (but the graphics kick ass)

Currently I have Quell (and the proceeding Quell games), Lazors (MANY levels so keeps you going), Funzy Bloc (also MANY levels) Mouse, Lyfoes (frustrating me), Maze, Reversi (a pretty cool game), Farkle (one off Facebook), a Majong game, 3 Cut The Rope games, Angry Birds (ok but dont much care for it), and 8 ball poll (from facebook).

I have had and beat MANY games. Tried out and hated others. Basically anything that can get my eyes to trace something and my brain to calculate something, im in heaven!

There are many Ive tried that arent as hard as some of these but most start easy and get harder as you go anyway.

I can list the games I beat and those i didnt like much if you want lol.

I remember when a kid of mine had Angry Birds on my cell phone. The rest sound like good parenting tools! Oh my god! another thing to realize I messed up as a parent! No wonder the younger one forgets to go to school and listens to 50 Cent. :(

Anyway- will look into it. I think after your post I realized Im always reading and searching anyway, I just have a mental block about puzzles because I was shamed a lot as a kid for being slow in math, or science- anything with calculations. This might be ok, Im gonna try it. Thanks!

If it helps, my brain calculates constantly but im horrible at math. Its not that Im not good at it, Im dyslexic so math is much harder for me. But even so, Im one of those people that use my fingers to add or minus, you know?

So math stuff I pass up but puzzle games dont always have to do with math. Im real good with solving a puzzle in my head before i make a move on the game. I dont like angry birds much as it all has to do with distance and how far back you go but you cant see your target a lot of the times.

Like pool for instance, I can usually clear a table without my opponet making a shot because it all has to do with geometry. Where do I hit this ball to go in this target pocket and then where will the cue go and how can I set up my next 3 shots. So my eyes follow the table fast and ive decided on that shot and my next 2 or 3 before i make the shot, and shoot the ball all inside of 60 secs (the amount of time 8 Ball Pool gives you to shoot). Its about my eyes following on the table and deciding where i want the cue to sit to set me up for my next shot. And its nice to be able to play with others.

I forgot about solitare but thats beating my personal time which is 4 mins and 38 secs right now.

Not all puzzle games are the same. Not all are about math, and not all are hard. It just depends on what you like and the difficulty you like.

Thanks for that. It didnt occur to me that I can find games like this that can revolve around the way I think naturally. I work from the big picture down. I'm really good at that, maybe I can use this sort of thing to expand the process in ways that'll be useful in my life.

Indeed @coco9, I think thats why I like them, its how my brain naturally thinks and it helps in life too. So weird how puzzle games can do this but it does and when i can myself fully focused on it, its the best distractor. So if you need to distract, go to your favorite puzzle game!

@coco9, someone else posted this but it fits me like a glove!

Thanks, I totally understand that feeling like you're going to bang your head on the wall if you cant stop ruminating over your trauma or problems.

In my case, I was always doing compulsive research and memorizing for things that're totally unrelated to my personal life. I'm sick of it!

Puzzles sound like they'd be more relaxing, I've been too busy lately to look into which puzzle would work well for me. I started with card games, online poker and solitaire, Lol, but it does already seem to be relaxing. The habit I had before was cramming too much info in my head all of the time, games occupy my mind, without any long term effect. Sort of like a guilt free fling :)
