Female Veterans

The other day I found out my wireless service has a military/veteran discount so I called to find out how to apply. This was how that conversation went:- how do I apply?
The veteran must be account
Owner or account manager
Good, I'm the account manager
Who is the account holder?
Gave him h's name
Well we can only speak to the veteran not the spouse!!!!

What??? Way to invalidate women veterans!!!! That one sentence PISSED ME OFF!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Luckily my mood stabilizer was increased so although I was very pissed there were no OTIA (objects thrown in anger)! Yes, I make up my own words and acronyms.

I'm sure other female veterans here have heard something similarly invalidating. I couldn't shake off the intense anger for days and I don't know why. It even messed with my ability to meditate.

In the sceme of things this wasnt all that bad.

Why did this affect me so much?

Any one of those would be reason enough. Sometimes, it's ok to get angry at highly inappropriate, biased, nonsense.

How to shake it off faster? I'm not sure. But your reaction was not something to judge yourself for.

I usually enjoy the anonymity being a chick affords me... It means I have to deal with a helluva lot less bullshit from well intentioned idiots (Have you killed anyone??? :shifty: ) than my guy friends do... But yeah. There are times it just f*cking makes my teeth itch. It's just like, FFS. T&A does not actually disqualify me from having done my f*cking job, nor make me a liar, but cheers! Agree. Although I am proud of my time in the Army there are very few that know I'm a veteran. Its just easier than letting others know. Less bulls**t comments. :poop:
As for the question about killing? I say I'm about to. It shuts them up. Some have even fled away in fear but I'm a sarcastic bitch! :sneaky:
