I came across a listing for a six day ayahuasca retreat here in Colorado. I searched up on here and it seems that a couple people found that it really helped them, but I'd like to hear a couple first-hand accounts of it. Link Removed is the info in case if anyone is interested.

Why can't women be on their periods?

This precludes any woman of child bearing age from participating if she's not 100% "regular" and isn't scheduled to get her period that week.

Is it because of the drugs used or because women on their periods are "dirty"?

Cool
I'm in Colorado and have wondered about this for a while. It's the initial purge and no guarantees everything will go well that concern me.

I know if you're tripping for two days, feminine hygiene may not be your first.concern, know what I mean?

I've gotten sick too many times on psychedelics. I just booked mine for November and I'll be sure to provide an update afterward. The one that I booked is over the weekend and lasts three days in total, two of which being the "medicine days".
Kinda ridiculous if you ask me. I mean spirits are now sexist? Count me out. I'll stick to my God...
Ok so I found some more information... It turns out that the spirits are not sexist and they believe that being on your period is a sign of cleansing/the purge and additional cleansing is not necessary. But still. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Ok apparently I don't understand because by that token women are cleansed every month (making that drug experience unnecessary) and it's just guys that are the dirty ones who need cleansing cuz they never get their cleansing periods lmao. I still see it as sexist. Somehow. Lol.

I'm just responding to the title of the thread, not about any particulat centre. The medicine and the so called provider need to remain distinct in my mind. This is not to say context doesn't matter, it is vital when working with teacher plants, but a poor or questionable provider doesn't mean poor healing modality which is what it is - not a drug.

I have worked with the plant and found it beneficial for facilitating healing. I will say that it needs to be approached with respect - the plant, the process. Not with - I'll pop these and see what happens, or make me better. Often, there is a strong teaching and a lot of work to to afterwards.

As said didn't check the link but if you don't feel its right for you then don't go but there often is a dieta or preparatory protocol to follow before working with teacher plants and it is in my experience to ensure the plant has no blocks to working with a person.

Wishing you well with it.
