This damn wounded bird won't get out of my house. It can't fly, I have now spent hours trying to grab him to take him outside. He keeps running underneath furniture that I can't move. I don't have time for this shit. I need to be packing and cleaning, and my sister is arriving tonight. I haven't slept in two days and have a terrible migraine. And yet I am force to spend the little time i have left trying to get this bird.

I am so frustrated I am thinking of just spraying pesticide in the room and killing it.

Open a door or window put a bowl of water close to it. Put food outside the door or on the window sill. Leave the room.

If you are using a window put something like a branch or chair with a towel over it so the bird can walk up the chair ramp to the window and get out. You might have to make it ramp like.

The bird is experiencing you as a predator. If you leave it alone with a way out, it will leave. If it can't fly it will need to be able to walk out.

What type of bird is it?

Hope that helps.

Ok, THIS IS PRESUMING IT HAS A BROKEN WING AND IS NOT JUST CONCUSSED FROM RUNNING INTO A WINDOW.
OTHERWISE follow Spock's advice.

Just clean and pack, hon.

Unless there's some humane wildlife rehab people who can fix it up, it's going to die by predation or starvation anyway, or just the cold, within a few hours of you putting it outside.
:(
Eventually lack of food and water will make it too weak to run away.
If you catch it and there's nowhere to take it, snapping it's neck quickly would probably be the kindest thing.

Quick! Go buy another bird. Or rent, borrow, beg, steal one.

2 birds in the house is good luck.

Just make sure the 2nd bird flies in under its own power. Although I would personally kind of throw it, just to make sure. Or have backups. And not let the 1st bird out until the 2nd bird is in.

Don't ask.

But it can't fly out the window, it can't fly at all. : ( Can't use its wing, so he's just stuck here unless I am able to pick him up.

I left him food and water but I can't just leave him in the house. My sister is arriving tonight and is meant to stay in that room, and now the whole room is turned upside down cause I've been trying so desperately to get the bird out. She won't stay in there with the bird, I have no other room in the house to let her stay. It looks like i'm going to end up having to pay for a hotel for her all because of this bird. There goes the tiny savings I had to help me make it through this relocation! Damn this bird

I can't stay in that room because I have the baby, and there are filthy bird feathers all over that room. The baby can't stay around that, let alone in a room where a wounded bird is traipsing around

I tried that, he keeps escaping the towel. There are way too many massive pieces of furniture that he keeps running under and are too heavy for me to move. I even left out a little trap with crumbs and he escaped that as well. How is it possible that this little sparrow has managed to sabotage all my plans??!?! Not a good omen, not a good omen at all. If I have to now pay for a hotel for my sister, I will have no money left to make the long anticipated move. This is ridiculous.

I know it is making you so much trouble but it is a living creature and it is wounded and scared, it doesn't do all this to irritate you but as it doesn't know any better.
Imagine how trapped it feels so it looks for it to be the safest to hide under the furniture. It may be seriously wounded so even die under it. But please try having sympathy for it, it got wounded by the cat and now is trapped.

Give it a time and do your own business right now. If your sister won't sleep in that room you could give her your bed and try to put some blankets on the floor for yourself and sleep there in the same room, I personally sometimes even prefer sleeping on the floor.

I know I don't have an advice how to get rid of the bird but I have tears in my eyes as it is the one who is in pain really right now.

I am sorry if this is not what you needed right now :(

Of course I do have sympathy for it, that's why I've spent all day trying to rescue it while I'm meant to be working. There's barely enough room for me and the baby's crib in my room, let alone room for someone to sleep on the floor.

The bird has been in there now for 2 days; I have been trying to get him out for two days. The screwed up thing is he will die even if I do manage to rescue him and put him back outside -- he can't fly and will almost surely be killed by the dozen stray cats prowling around in the yard.

I'd like to give the bird more sympathy but at this point I think my baby deserves the sympathy since I have spent all my time on this damn bird instead of on him.

My sister has now messaged saying she wants to stay in a hotel, and as she did not bring cash or credit cards, wants me to pay for it. There goes the meager 400 I had in my account to feed myself and my kid for the next several weeks. f*ck this. f*ck this so much.
