Whether staged or not, regardless whether one of them want recognition in the public spotlight or not, the argument being had between them is good for PTSD overall as a cross Nation debate using figurative importance representative to each country. Morgan UK, Gaga USA.

Piers Morgan calls Lady Gaga's claim that she has PTSD due to sexual assault 'nonsense'

I wouldn't like to be Morgan about now... as his testicles are going to get crushed in this debate IMHO.

His claims of knowing veterans with PTSD, and then transposing that very limited experience onto what another says as having PTSD, not a good idea.

Veterans are often severe. Prolonged child abuse are often severe. 60% of those diagnosed with PTSD are not severe, they function in every day life and society, they hold jobs and so forth, yet they do experience symptoms which debilitate one of the required areas of their life, whether the public see it or not is an entirely different story. Unlikely... as most keep such things quite private.

Morgan... I think you took on way too much and are going to be hurting by the end of this with your limited scope and experience of PTSD affect.

Just my two cents.

Why is it that the Brits always export the outspoken obnoxious ones to us?

Simon softened. I actually like him now!

I think Piers just rode his coat tails across the pond, lol.

Damn! I actually liked Piers Morgan. Though most actors I like are assholes and well this is an asshole move to make!

But I do like that it is being discussed and not sweeped under the rug! And maybe, just maybe, people will figure out that you don't have to be a veteran to have PTSD. I told one person that I had PTSD (to explain a symptom) and that person looked at me and asked "what branch of the military were you in?" :banghead:

I think he's going to get his arse kicked, and rightly so. In saying that, I've seen many posters on this forum talk about PTSD as a life long, extremely debilitating condition - so Piers Morgan is hardly the only person likely to be thinking "she can still work etc, how bad can it be and is it really PTSD". The vast majority of people do recover, most of them without intervention much less years of therapy.

At its most extreme PTSD is life long and incredibly debilitating, most people aren't at the most extreme but I think that population is over represented here so quite severe symptoms look normal.

Piers Morgan is a total dick. He's always saying "edgy" bull shit to get media attention. I don't think he even probably believes the vile he spouts most of the time. It's just a way to get more attention. They'll be speaking about this in the news reading ignorant c*nts tweets. It maybe attention but depending on what news network you watch will be good or bad. No doubt some will try to defend him and say the usual victim blaming shite. People who are ignorant are because they watch the some news network and don't mistrust any of it. They all have an agenda.

Okay I'm going to spin this. Did Piers state his opinion about Gaga because she was a celebrity or as a human being? Was he comparing PTSD in veterans vs. Gaga's confession? I've seen Gaga's videos and they portray her as a sexually active woman, sure of herself and going "both ways." I'm not in any way saying that Piers was correct however, we need to see both sides of the situation to form an opinion. I don't think Piers should've said anything however, let's look at the bigger picture.
