So how am I to post???? I have a first time post setting in draft on Introductions. But I get this below every time I try to post ....WTF....How in the hell can I Participate, if I can not post???
I just Love f*cking Stupid!!!!

Edit: So why did this one post and the one in Introductions will not???

Old Door Gunner, are you trying to upload a picture? If so, I believe there is a minimum number of posts before you can do that. Its there to stop people from joining and spamming the lists.

Sorry you are feeling the frustration.

I don't run the site, but I do know a bit about spammers. Unfortunately those f*ckers will do anything to get their shit through. Back when I ran my own firm, I was getting between 2,000-3,000 spam emails and my server was getting pounded by 100s of thousands of break in attempts every day. It's just a pain in the ass and sometimes draconian measures have to be taken...

Every website is scanned and scraped by these asshats everyday looking for weaknesses. If you post your email address in plain text — it is now on every spam list. If you put your rules up, the bastards can write a script that will bypass the rules.

Its really too bad that the internet grew in the way that it did. Back in the days that there were only maybe 100 people on the DARPANET, they didn't need to worry about this shit. The fact that the civilian web grew as fast as it did, and that the people who set up those rules, didn't think about the potential of these problems has led to legacy problems that will likely never be removed...

You are 100% correct Fargo....I started in putters in 83 as a data base programer (dBase/DOS) I was a Beta Tester for Prodigy when it came on line. Remember that one? Anyway I went back to my Introductions draft and cleaned it up, but it still will not post. Not sure what to do at this point? I put some time and work in that post, so you guys would get an idea who I am........

Now, to your current issue. I don't have an answer to that. Perhaps the code for the link is being saved in the draft somehow. I'm not sure how to delete drafts...never had to do it ;-)

You could try copying the draft, pasting it into a text editor (maybe that will clear something), then making a new introduction and pasting.

Do to similar issues over the years, I tend to type longer posts in a text editor first, just in case something goes wrong — as it usually does — plus I have a copy of my bs and ramblings.

Okay, so my observation skills are sadly lacking. To delete a draft you click on the disk icon above the draft, then choose "Delete Draft" as seen the the image below.

Well I did all of the above and it still will not post! Oh the draft is easy, just click on the save icon, it will ask Save or Delete.
I coyped my post from the preview and then Deleted the whole thing. Started a new post, pasted in text, hit preview it came up, hit Post Reply. Would not post.....I am thinking it's just time to move on and Delete my account. I just don't need the stress! I post on a few Gun boards, they all have the spam BS, but I have never had and trouble posting.

I feel you. If I was more of a computer geek (rather than an architect) I might be able to be of actual help...

I woke up on the wrong side of the couch this morning. Finally fell asleep about 03:30. But there is a 16 year old dog here that can't hear, has cataracts, and cancer has made her not able to feel her rear legs..anyway, she decided to start walking a post around the house at 05:30 — and hasn't stopped walking since. It's driving me up the walls. Remarkably, I haven't completely lost my shit!

I think you ar better off being an architect. I got called up for Desert Storm, I have not been on active duty in 18 years. So off to Ft Bragg I go, get on post get extended for a year. So I told the wife to give the program codes to my customes, so they can get a new programer. (the wife is so cool, she sold them the codes):rolleyes: So when I get back, no more programing for me, I open a computer repair shop out of the house..I closed the shop in Dec 06. I was just sick of it and was dealing with the PTSD, that I did not know I had. To make thing worse the Army calls me up and than does not use my excellent job skills! Why did you call me up if you are not going to let me do my thing? I just get the BS run around.

It makes me sad about your dog. We had to have ours put down a few months ago. Her back hips would no longer work. It was hard on all of us. They have a way of making a home in our hearts. Some day maybe I'll tell you about Molly, I lost her over 20 years ago. She was an Irish Sitter. My counselor told me she was my PTSD companion, I know he is correct in that.

I hope you do get some sleep. Take the dog to bed with you, sleep together. This comes from experience!
