I need a constructive project to get my brain working better and I am not allowed to do much else, so here is what I am offering:

Just post the name of the medication you have questions about and I will utilize all my access to a vast university database/library and my familiarity with journal papers and scientific literature to decipher and explain the drug for you, as I have done in the past on here with other drugs.

Can anyone tell I am already really, really bored with being drugged up?

When first diagnosed the wonderful va put me on trazadone, paxil, and tegretol. Screwed me up even more, I felt like a zombie. Got some sleep though.

Currently on prazosin (4mg), sertraline(100mg), and quetiapine (50mg) for bad days though i only need half(25mg) and I'm on my ass. My doc said to "use caution" when using machinery (I'm a cabinet maker) and driving. Ridiculous. She needs to be telling people to NOT use machinery or vehicles. That seroquel stuff is no joke.

Over here there are warnings about meds on the package.
What nobody tells you is about the half life of meds.

Some last 18 hours. Bromazepam does.
When causing an accident whilst on those meds you lose your insurance.

Laws diffee per country but worth to look up in individual cases.

BuSpar (buspirone) This would be a good one for for letting everyone know about the Side Effects. As I understand it, the Side Effects can show up years after using this drug.......

Sludge: I really like you insight on meds. I usually read them thoroughly. Thank you very much for offering this to us.

Sludge,

I've been dieing trying to find the answer to this. Don't know if it is of your realm but here goes. I smoked three packs of cigarettes a day before discovering e-cigarettes. I do not know the nicotine delivery of a cigarette, but I now consume about one ounce of liquid containing 2.1% nicotine per three days.

Has my nicotine consumption become greater or lesser?

Thanks,

Sarg

Hey Sarg,

I smoke something like you and was looking at e-cigarettes. Not sure of the brand to buy, as there is a shit pot full of them. What Brand did you buy?

Also I found this when I was looking for info, Tobacco cigarette vs e-cigarette nicotine equivalency

It's not a total answer, but was the best I found (it's beening updated) This will give you something to look at, till Sludge checks in. I would like to know the answer to your question as well.

Note: I was using the nicotine lozenges (4mg ea) I would break them into 4 pieces. The wife counted how many I use in one day, it was 27 whole lozenges. f*ck that was108 mg of nicotine....The lozenges are EVIL, I went back to cigarettes...

Hey Sarge, I can fire from the hip on this one. I too switched to the e-cig vaporizer units after a two pack a day + a pipe habit.

The problem with the e-cigs is the as follows:

1. You are still putting particulate matter into your lungs. 99% of the vaporizers and cartomizers out there do not actually vaporize, they burn, so there is really no benefit there except the amount of products of combustion are much more limited. For instance, in the USA all our smokes and wraps are dosed heavily with flame retardant chemicals. Vapes don't have that crap.
2. The real issue is the propylene glycol used as a "sweetener" in vape juice. When heated in the presence of glycerine (the other main component of the juice) a vapor of ethylene glycol forms. You may recognize that one as it is most commonly known as antifreeze. Yup. That is right, you are inhaling automotive engine coolant steam. E.G. crystallizes in your brain and causes permanent cell death. Just ask any puppy or kitten that has drank some Rotella 50/50! Interestingly enough the medical treatment for E.G. poisoning is ethanol. As in they give you an IV with grain alcohol in it!
3. The flavorings are a real issue too. The bulk of them are methyl salicylate derivatives, which is the same base chemical in aspirin and wintergreen! There is not enough data on how these interact after heating and how they interact with our meds.

So, if you are a "vaper" or e-cig user, use your head. There is no safe way to smoke. Period. Contrary to popular belief, there is absolutely no data to support the claims they are safer. But, speaking from experience and a biochem degree damn there finished, I can tell you they are safer than regular smokes.

I suggest skipping the corner store e-cigs though, they have all sorts of nasty shit in them, often worse than regular smokes. I buy mine at a vape shop and only buy the juice that does not contain PG.

More later, Imma go to the store with my wife while screwed up on pills.

I have the munchies....

i get my e-liquid from a site called ECblends. mixed in USA.....so they claim. you can get 100% VG (veggie glycerine) if you want. some say it may be safer than PG mixes.

Thanks, guys. Yeah, I was worried about the ethylene. So, I'll check with the site 5line just gave. But like you said, I'm still not getting all the crap that I was getting from cigs, so was kind hoping that the amounts were so low they didn't do damage. I don't know why (perhaps other than price) they don''t use a better stabilizer.

JR, the only brand I've dealt with is Kanger. I've been disappointed with their results, leaks, poor pull, crappy parts, ect. If I were you, I would try one of the "disposable tanks", usually $3-4 bucks. Get the long battery. The short goes south too fast. That way you can get in and try it before spending too much. The disposable tanks sometimes have an odd taste, god knows what that is chemically.

Another aspect is I'm super paranoid about fire. So, every time I left the house, I had to check all the ashtrays to make sure that I didn't leave one burning. I did this primarily for my dog, but now he's gone, find I still do it.

I knew there would be kinks in this thing, I've just got to work them out.

But, it's light at the end of a nearly lifelong bad habit.

I found this, The Best Electronic Cigarette Guide For 2014 Dead Link Removed seems to be some good info on whats what......

I think I may have found the answer to why is so hard for us with the Beast to quit smoking. After hours of searching nicotine on line, I found that nicotine releaces adrenalin into our systems......So it's a double hook for us junkies, adrenalin and nicotine. I have been trying to quit since 83...I did the gum, patches and lozenges, lots of $$$ spent and I am still hooked.

Also don't for get that the Proposed FDA Regulations on E-Cigarettes are due this month.....Go to http://casaa.org/Home_Page.php to learn more.......
