I like that the President can so efficently speak to his people but, come one! Like put a lid on most of that shit!
Agreed. Or at least he could find something positive to say. Like a good Chinese food place or something.

I wonder what previous president's would have tweeted about if they would have had access to twitter?

Bill Clinton @slickwilly: Need a good dry cleaner in the DC area? Try BJ's dry cleaning. Great service!

Gerald Ford @gravityford: PSA wearing shoes with good ankle support is important when disembarking an airplane.

Jimmy Carter @billybeer Anyone know where my brother can get a deal on hops?

Ronald Regan @USSRegan: Kevlar trench coats TFW!

John Kennedy @JFK: I put us on the moon, trump that Trump.

Theodore Roosevelt @3rdterm: Ha. Fooled you all. I can't walk!

Abraham Lincoln @honestabe Thanks Obama!

George Washington @bluecoat For God's sakes. Bare arms. I was talking about t-shirts! I knew I should have fired that proof reader.

Well, the skinny vote failed, the pentagon said they will not change anything concerning Trumps tweet on Transgender people serving in the armed forces until there is a directive put into effect, the Boy Scouts issued an apology for Trumps speech he gave to kids age 11 and up, and many politicians are not happy with the Smootch for his "colorful" explicit interview he gave to the New Yorker yesterday. So I'm thinking that Trump didn't have a good day!!!!

I also heard that the Times will be putting in print the interview in FULL. No holes barred, and they will print it verbatim without using **** or anything to disguise any word. How interesting that we've come to this point that a magazine would print this kind of stuff....

Apparently Trump is getting really frustrated with politics, politicians and the entire process. Maybe he'll quit!!!! Pipe dream but a pleasant one!!!

Trump wanted to be CEO of America.

The president is not a CEO, and I do think Trump is tiring of the job.

The GOP is now asking to work with the democrats to come up with a bill... if that was going to work quickly, it would have worked by now. I don't believe we will see anything significant passed on healthcare in 2017. I think we will see the drama and chaos in Washington continue to grow and be rather unproductive for a little while longer. I could be wrong --- that's just my prediction. The GOP migh pass something in a panic as the midterm elections come up. Also, McCain will not be in the picture as much, and he played a major role in slowing this down.

We will likely see in the news lots of continued drama over healthcare. If you like Obamacare, don't get too worried. I don't believe it's going away quickly. If you don't like Obamacare, I wouldn't worry that it will be around forever, it will crash and burn eventually..... Um, yeah, so I'm not that great at finding the bright side to all of this.

What I'm concerned about is what happens after all of this? Americans will find a high level of chaos to be normal, and continue expect the Feds to play a huge role in healthcare. I don't see much of an effort by the states to take back control of healthcare - which I think is the best possible plan at this time, and then various states can try various models and we will see what actually works the best instead of these defunct cumbersome efforts by the feds to get enough congressmen from enough states with such diverse needs to agree on anything...

Argh what a mess.

This is what happens when you elect a dumpster fire: The Nickname “Reince Penis” Is Now Part of the Public Record

@ShikibuZ Honestly, I don't think that the politics are bringing out the best of any of us. In regards to McCain .... My feelings are this. I believe that he is a patriot, that he loves this country and believes in the constitution. I also feel that with his recent diagnosis and his age, that he may think he has limited time and what time he does have left he wants to be used to bring the country together. We have such a huge divide right now.

It does sadden me that we are so divided right now. We were divided when Bush Jr was in the WH too, but this is just so huge and the hatred is so apparent that I'm seriously afraid that if things don't change soon, Im scared to think what might happen.

It's so discouraging to me that everyone is super focused on McCain's role, which was huge, but there is not nearly as much focus on the two female moderate republican senators, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, who voted against it as well --- and were long against the skinny repeal before McCain ever was....

Sigh. That "woman card" Trump said female politicians can play..... it really doesn't buy much. At all. Not that it should, but it does stink they don't get much of the credit, but the one male GOPer who voted against it gets all the credit.

Actually, I'm looking at this as an opportunity. LOL The next thing I do this morning is to send an email to all 3 Republicans who voted "nay" to thank them for their vote. And to encourage them to try to do what McCain suggested and actually attempt to work on solving problems. Then I'm emailing McConnell, NOT thanking him for his vote, suggesting he look up the definition of "leadership" in the dictionary, then either do his job or get the heck out of the way. THEN, I'm contacting my own representatives, all of which happen to be Democrats, and suggest that THEY get their bipartisan selves in gear too. I think "we the people" still have a chance to win this one.

This is a representative democracy. These people are supposed to represent US, not special interests, or big donors. They don't absolutely HAVE to listen to us, but they sure won't if we don't speak up.

To quote President Kennedy, who thought he was quoting Edmund Burke (which may or may not be correct) “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

Yes, it was Edmund Burke. I researched that several years ago before using his quote in a church bulletin.

You go, Scout! I think Al and Amy are already on board with that, but don't know about your rep.

There are things that definitely need to be fixed with Obamacare. But, just to remember the long view, it took years and years to tweak Social Security as well.
