I don't know how others who aren't interested in spiritual issues relate to this, but I wish to ask those who are how familiar you are with different power animals?
A totem is nothing you choose, it turns out when it enters your life.
This is the story of The Jaguar as my Spirit Animal.
The Jaguar came into my life for almost 15 yrs ago. Soon after I met a person with the same totem. I will not tell the story behind (which though is trauma related), but now when I've gained its trust and power myself, hear if there's others out there with the same beast to teacher for guarding and protection?
It's one among the most disciplined and persevering protection animal that requests the same respect as it deserves. If the Jaguar visit or enter your life, it is about to change.
The most scary thing about it, is that it knows you from inside out and nothing remain hidden for it. In other words, if you meet the Jaguar you don't have the option to avoid what you might have done for a long time before you met it. It brings you to face all the hidden and buried it's time to deal with.
As beautiful as fascinating, the patterns on its fur representing the sky, stars shining in the night as the father of all knowing.
Your spiritual journey will be, by all means challenging and dangerous where you will learn to know its Spirit and power. It teaches you about the earthly and divine, about the dead and the living as well as the differences between good and evil. You will meet trials, despair and your fear of the depths.
You learn to see the roads within chaos and understand the patterns, move without fear in the darkness, unknown places and develop abilities of the Jaguar such as; shape shifting, psychic vision, hear communications from other life forms or dimensions, facilitated soul work, self empowering, reclaiming power. A good reason for those with this totem to trust their thoughts and inner visions and instincts as they are based in reality
Individuals with this power animal generally possess a good command of language, although their words can have a tendency to cut, tear and shred others apart. Learning correct communication skills is of foremost importance for these individuals.
When the Jaguar bounds into your reality it's asking you to go within, to release your fears, to heal your emotions and to awaken your inner sight. When you come out of retreat the Jaguar will be there awaiting you. If you choose to follow his lead, he will guide you into the underworld where the secrets of life and creation are to be found.
The Jaguar is the earth father, holding the authority over the sacred power of and in the earth, and the animals who live on it and is the gatekeeper to the unknowable.
Since it's constantly dealing with chaos and difficult issues no subject is taboo to this totem.
It's a Spirit animal with great healing abilities and blessings, with courage to maintain your individuality, change and move fearless in life.

The Jaguar can offer an opportunity for those who experience mental, emotional and especially spiritual pain, but also requires courage, patience, goal awareness and will to reach them.
This post is however not meant to seek any knowledge, healing or comfort in the spiritual search of deeper belonging. It is purely an input about power animals for those who already have awareness as experience of the spiritual and wish to find others with the same beliefs and questions which then could be helpful in a healing process.
Feel free to share your spiritual experiences and how power animals has affected your life in a positive direction?
My own beliefs are not in any way related to Wiccan or other polytheistic religions even though I'm curious about such.
