Went back down to the water sunday night. Staurday couldn't catch the sight till it was a ways up due to clouds (it was raining hard at the appropriate time, stuck around getting rained on and finally cleared, saw stars, waited a bit longer, MOON!). So sunday, knowing it would be cooooolllld, when stopped at the grocery store along the way indulged in a bag from the hot counter leavings for the day. You know, how some stores bag up the last few fried bits and stick them under a heat lamp for late comers to buy?
Picture this: Sunday night, COLD!!!! but no rain, however CLOUDS!!!!! sitting on top of a picnic table down by the water munching breaded chicken livers (I LOVE chicken liver) which appeared at the hot counter for the first time, and then polishing it off with coffee and a pecan sticky roll. The night was pitchy, the moon sort of appeared (one area got brighter along the horizon butno actual discernable moon), an old fella walking his dog stopped to chat, and the people in the waterfront wine bar smiled to see a raincoat-and-scarf wrapped person go trundling up and down (to keep warm after the food and coffee was gone). A bit of a disappointment, but on the other hand a good time was had by all.
And of course, the moon on the 19th, even if somewhat up, was GORGEOUS!
