Any Suggestions?

I took this pic a while ago at Ball's Falls in Ontario. I am still trying to figure out what this might have used for. It was too far from the house to be used an outdoor oven. There was an outdoor oven in the rear yard anyhow. Most or all of the buildings there are historical.

Sandra, that looks like a Lime kiln. Is the rock limestone? We have a lot of lime kilns here and that looks like one to me.

I just remembered to do a search if the Niagara County had limestone. I found this on one site

"From quarries in the Niagara, a calcium magnesian carbonate rock (dolomite), and a calcium carbonate rock, limestone, are obtained."

So it looks like your guess was right. Thanks for the info CraftyCath. :)

That's a cool place James B. It's closer to Niagara Falls iin Ontario.

Well you know how I feel about my family so I didn't want to spend Christmas with them so it was a nice day out that day and I just felt like going for a drive that day and this is where I ended up. :)
