Hi all,
I have been doing some intense EMDR work with 'inner children'. Well, I think I may have needed a break or something because I wound up going on vacation and having a lot of fun and just coasting and taking life easy for the last month, focusing on lighter topics in therapy, etc.
I have had a pain condition called interstitial cystitis for 3 yrs but through naturopathy I've almost healed it. It had been about a year and a half since I'd felt any major pain. I kinda forgot I had it. Last week I came down with possibly the worst physical pain I have been in. The kind where you say 'That was totally uncalled for!' I thought it must be a urinary infection so I started taking d-mannose and vitamin C, but did not take antibiotics. The urinalysis showed a negative culture. I know there can be false negatives, but I also wondered about the power of the unconscious here.
Have any of you been working on your 'stuff' and just needed a break and some debilitating physical issue (pain or otherwise) happened to you... perhaps as a "wake up call" to get back to working on your stuff? Just curious...
