You know you have PTSD when....
1. your 18 year old self and your 13 year old self start having arguments.
"They emotionally abused you sweetie, it's okay though, they're not here." "They didn't. They're nice."
"You're in denial." "No I'm not. The other kids say they're nice when I try to talk about the teachers to them."
"Maybe they're just being mean to you, after all, the kids ARE NOT your friends." "Yes they are, I hang out with them all the time"
"They ran away from you, laughed at you, and blamed you for something that wasn't your fault" "Yes it was my fault. I should have told someone."
"They emotionally abused you sweetie. She wanted you to feel ashamed about yourself, and she hit you." "No she didn't, it was a tap"
"I'm sure that's what they told you." "It's true."
"Is not." "Is too." "Is not" "Is too Is too Is too! *cries* I hate you."
"Oh Jen, SHUT UP You're confusing me!"
And THAT'S what talking to yourself means, ladies and gentlemen. ;)
2. When your thirteen year old self wins every dumb argument... and you are amazed at how persuasive they can be with their whiny little voice.
3.When your twelve year old self and your abusive teachers are the only ones who truly see the real you for who you are.
4. When you spend more time with your abusive teachers and bullies than you do with your family.
