Treasure Hunt - September

Get ready for PTSD Forum's first significant prize giveaway, being a Kindle E-Reader worth $109, delivered to your door via Amazon.

Simple Terms

1. Strict adherence to PTSD Forums legal policy and rules.
2. Participating members must have 50 legitimate posts (minimum) to partake in the treasure hunt.
3. The prize is a single Kindle E-Reader, wi-fi, 6" screen.
4. The competition will be open to all legitimate PTSD Forum members meeting the above, except Administrators.
5. Members may not replicate prior clues / answers to any clues in any forum post (PC's excluded).
6. Any member failing to obide by these rules at any given time will be disqualified from winning the prize, in writing upon this thread.

You must meet the above criteria to be eligible to participate and win the prize.
This will be an online treasure hunt, requiring you to work your way around the web and find clues, leading you to the next clue, and so forth.

This is able to be done due to affiliate purchases via our books through Amazon, giving PTSD Forum enough credit to now use for just such an event.

How The Hunt Will Work

A daily clue / every second day will be given, leading you from one web page to another. Each page may, or may not, give another clue to assist you to the next page. In other words, some pages you will be able to get to from the clue given. Some you will need to be on the right page to help you to the next page alone. The clue will then be removed upon posting the next clue.

The last clue will lead you to the treasure page. The first person to post accordingly as per the treasure page states, onto this thread at completion, will be the person who wins the prize.

You can team-up, you can do it alone, you can privately discuss via PC if you choose, however; just be aware that helping another may give them the edge to win, and you lose.

I guess so. I missed the first clue too, and also can't commit to checking daily, since I'm away and won't have internet access for a few days in late September. Also, I don't keep regular hours, so even if I did check in daily by my standards, it is very likely I will miss a clue.

So I wish everyone well, and if you are aiming for the prize, and looking for a helping hand give me a yell (PC!), and I'll help you if I can!!

I can't guarantee that I will be able to help. Nor can I promise to solely help only one person (without an incentive, but perhaps I could be persuaded!)

Perhaps I'll be no asset to you at all, or perhaps I'll be the genius that sends you to the finish line. Perhaps I might send others searching for the wrong thing :whistling: .

As stated in the first post, if people "want" to help others out with the clues, then PC away privately between as many as you choose... though like Muz said above... helping others can then deter yourself from winning.

And what Nicolette said... my clues might be a little cryptic, though I intentionally don't try and trick you, they are what they are, just not blatantly stated.

I will actually include clues to confirmation pages during it, so you know whether your work is good thus far or not. If not, and you kept all the clues, you can rework it all month that way until you get to the confirmation pages, confirming yourself along the way.

Clues will always be present for approximately 24 hours or more. You only need look once in a 24hr period and copy the clue down.

I don't really get it. The scavenger hunting online because there's like 80 gazillion sites with the same type info - I have no idea how to narrow them down. I am collecting clues though, just incase - and I DONT want the kindle so really wouldn't bother me to help anyone out.
