It just goes to show what a difference a cultural context can make!

I'm sure in England no one would bat an eye if you said, "Last night I had some excellent spotted dick for dessert."

Can you imagine *here*? All the men (or most of them) would be laughing, there would be jokes, mothers would be covering their children's ears... (Or it simply wouldn't be said in front of the children at all.)

And if a child was caught saying it, chances are, they would be getting a mouthful of soap or the equivalent.

And even depending on whether a man or woman said it would completely change the context! It has social & political ramifications here, and in England all it is is dessert. :D
