Abstract, I don't feel so bad now! ;)

After the cappuccino thing, I went into the kitchen to get me a glass of gatorade. I put ice in my cup then looked in the cup cupboard for gatorade(it's in the fridge). Then I got a spoon of peanut butter and dropped it, but caught it in my hand(what a mess). My husband asked me if I needed him to help me up to bed!:roflmao:

Things seem to be calming down now. Thankfully.

I should just rename this thread the 'dear god, I've turning into a complete f*cking idiot' thread. Today I spent about 3 minutes trying to figure out where the 'send' button was in Outlook. How the hell did I a) forget where it was given how often I use it, and b) not notice it right there?

Le sigh. :bag:

Not 3 months ago I was making pocorn... I read how long it was supposed to be in the microwave, 5 min.

So I put it in for 5 min....

The bag caught fire in the microwave, smoke was everywhere, and the house smelt of burnt popcorn.

I didn't realize you put it in the microwave for 5 min if you had a low wattage microwave... Not only that. But Our microwave actually had a "popcorn" button on it where it would automatically stop when it was done.

We had to get rid of it because of smoke damage....

Saw this on FB and thought it was fitting for this thread (sorry about the swear word):

I hate this one the most: When reading, I often find my mind wandering and have to go back and try to figure out if something I was reading didn't make sense, maybe upset me or I just started day dreaming. Sometimes something I read will make me think of something I have to do or that happened recently or a long time ago even, and then I am off on some "rabbit trail" or something in my mind...

The other one that I HATE is when I am telling a story or talking and I forget what I was talking about! It is just GONE and I cannot remember where I was going with the story or what I was about to start talking about or something. I can sometimes get folks to tell me what I was saying so that I can backtrack and start back into the story where I left off. Other times, what I was talking about will remind me of something else and I will jump into THAT story and forget entirely what I was talking about. Funny thing is, folks will not always be able to remember either, because my stories can get long (or maybe they are just tired of hearing me talk?) I talk a lot!

Oh, and I put my purse in the refridgerator once! My husband found it there later, after we'd looked ALL OVER for it. I had not panicked too much though, because I remembered that I had pulled my keys out of my purse to unlock the front door. I think I had also left the milk in some unlikely place, probably where I usually left my purse. I was in my 20s when this happened, so I could not blame it on "old age" or something. When I forget things now, at least I can blame it to some degree on my age, as I am 58 and all my peers tell me that this is "normal" for our age group.

Wow, been laughing reading this thread. :hilarious:

Write out a shopping list, only to go to the shop and forget the list.
Seriously... EVERYTIME I write out a shopping list, I forget it and realize that only once I am in the supermarket, overwhelmed by all the choices I have... :banghead:

My doctor told me I should take 50mg of my meds in the morning, instead of in the night. And I have been forgetting it every morning. That is really not so great. :cautious:

I have a very good phone friend who lives where I used to live before I moved here. She and I love to stay in touch by phone. So I asked her if she would be willing to call me to remind me to take my meds each morning. She agreed, so she calls me religiously every morning at 8AM. If I don't have enough minutes on my cell, she still calls, but I don't answer, even though the call itself reminds me anyway.

Your other options are getting your cell phone to remind you with a daily alarm that goes off each morning or have an alarm clock that is specifically for that purpose. I hope these suggestions can help you!
