I was looking for this thread yesterday and I could not find it. :mad: Mine was yesterday, waiting for the service man for our internet. I was also angry that the help desk kept ignoring my remarks that there was something wrong with the connection and internet. Instead they decided I should get an upgrade. Turns out, once the guy was here, I was right! He said he can't believe we managed on the previous cable and gave us a new one. There was some satisifaction in knowing I was right and not losing my senses! Still went with the upgrade though.

Back in October I canceled my cable. I got a bill this month for two months of service. I called them and said I wasn't paying. We went round and round, then they sent a guy out. He checked the box outside and said no one had turned it off. He showed where I had contacted them in September to cancel, but since they didn't shut it off i'm responsbible for it. I told what they could do with that type of policy. I refuse to pay for something I didn't use. What do you think?

I'm angry that I can't even manage to open a stupid jar of stupid peanut butter because the nerves in my arm just refuse to play right tonight. All I want is a damn sandwich and I can't manage to unscrew the jar lid. Grrr!

They have thse wonderful little gadgets now where you can open jars even when your arms don't work. I wish i could tell you to go to your local Independant Living Center, but i'm not suppose to advertise.

Man are you right, especially that they have the proof that you had cancelled that service in September ! Hope you win this !
 
... Most of you do not even know who I am, what my issues are, how long I have been a member or if I've even helped anyone, and quite frankly that does not matter to me one bit. I can here for help and all I got was ads requesting money.

I am very surprised but more so, disappointed.

Chat or forums are not free. It costs money to keep them running. By asking for donations they are not being unreasonable. If you don't have it, you don't pay. If you do, then contribute. When I was able to work, I paid $200 bucks an hour for a good therapist. Now, I can't work, so I don't see him any longer. Coming here helps, even though I can't afford to pay yet. But when I can, you bet I sure will.

Now i'm pissed all over again. I've been living in a wheelchair since 2000. I was able to get a powerchair with help from medicare, but it was a really bad chair. On October 6th, I was going over a small bridge, and the brakes didn't kick in when I needed then. It lunged forward, and threw me out of the chair. The chair ended up on top of me. I was really lucky that a number of men were around and helped me get the chair off of me, and helped me over to a spot where I could sit down. Lets just say, I was hurt pretty bad.

After filing all sorts of complaints about the chair, another company (whom I used to like) offered me another chair. I said I couldn't afford to get another one, since medicare only helps once every 5 years. The talked me into it, saying medicare would pay because of the chair being bad. I got it in November. Just now, I got a call that said medicare will not pay so I have to. I told them to come get it, and hung up. Needless to say, i'm very pissed off at companies who rip off disabled people. I may have physical needs and mental issues, but I am not stupid. I used my manual chair for years before I got the power chair, and I can do it again.
