Twitching While Sleeping

I would guess the twitching during sleep is just a physical outlet for the body being in a state of nervousness and racing adrenalin.

When we aree in deep sleep we should be still and relaxed but I suppose if the brain is trying to process stuff (dreaming) about truamatic stuff it's going to make our body react. My guess that's where the twitching comes from but we need a sleep expert on here to really tell us what's going on :-)

Not necessarily. I don't dream but I do move a lot in my sleep. I don't think you can say the two are necessarily related.

You say you don't Dream? Its my understanding that we all dream but just don't always remember that we have.

Oh ok. I thought everyone dreamed? I'm interested now. As a sufferer does PTSD have an impact on your ability to dream? Is that what you are saying?

Didn't mean to offend, this is just something I have not been aware of before so happy to be educated :-)

I do as well. Sometimes I have almost like a judder.

I sleep alone. Me and my partner have separate bedrooms. He snores, I twitch and judder, talk, scream and cry out in my sleep, get up for the bathroom and generally well, it is either that or no sleep for anyone :P

At the beginning he would hold me as I shook all night and it kept him awake, then his snoring. It just doesn't work for either of us.

I prefer sleeping alone. I find it very hard to sleep with anyone else in the bed. I am a very light sleeper and even a fart would wake me up :P

My guy is a sleep "kicker" but it is like a twitch kick. Happens about every 20 seconds once he starts up until he gets through whatever state he's in. I usually try rubbing his shoulders and kissing him to try to calm him down. Sometimes helps. Sometimes I just have to lay my legs on top of his and hold him until it stops. If he wakes himself up with it, he'll try to move to another bed but I hate that. I want him to learn to push through it with me. We both wake up feeling so much more relaxed and happy when we've made it through the night in the same bed. Kind of like "YA - TAKE THAT, SLEEP! WE KICKED YOUR A**, SO THERE!" ;-)

Yep, another fellow twitcher here ;)

I twitch during the day too, but it's worst at night. It hurts like hell and makes sleep impossible without the help of drugs with a sedative effect. I've mentioned it to my GP a lot but he's very dismissive. ..
