Ban Review

So members are aware, I've just done a review on bans for members over 100 posts and have lifted most of them. This is a normal procedure I do at periodic times, even with permanent bans... often giving members time away from the forum to see what changes.

Some people change, come back and have no further issue with. Some don't, and get banned again. It usually works out quick enough. Some simply don't return, yet have all restrictions lifted from their account regardless.

So if you see previously banned members back here, that is why.

If someone is banned, is their profile page gone? I always assumed so, but now I see someone with a "banned" avatar and I can see their profile so I am a bit confused? Are they here or not? (as in, did they just "borrow" the banned avatar?) The title under their name doesn't say "temp banned" as I've seen in the past. Thanks!

A banned avatar means they have been banned. Sometimes for a few weeks, sometimes permanently. Temp banned usually means a day or two; 24 hours or 48 hours.

Temp banned usually means a day or two; 24 hours or 48 hours.

Up to 7 days depending on the 'offence' (eg suicidal posting) or an accumulation of points from not complying with forum rules.

Temporary means just that - Banned Avatar typically means a permanent ban until next review, which has no time limit, and is generally permanent or long term.
