Attachment In Therapy - Another Thread

This thread has given me the opportunity to get this out, and this has given me the validation and reassurance that I so badly needed. (I've always wondered why I / people need validation for my / their deepest convictions). It is also helping to get clarity. Thank you for all the posts.

The adult has the feet, the child can choose from the heart.

Funnily enough, she attaches to the most inappropriate people - perhaps people like my mother. She is very attached to this therapist, while the adult knows that it won't work. She's a perverse little thing. But in all fairness - the therapist has been 'there' more than anybody else has ever been.

Dear Pencil, you need help for monday. A friend? A relative? Salvation Army? A woman's shelter? A church reference? Even Mother Teresa's sisters (nuns), if they are there they can help (emergencies), sometimes.

Not perverse, just used to her mom's ways, perhaps.

So time for a real, better connection for 'her'.
