I kno that you are right about the addiction and losing its effectiveness when I am in a calm state of mind, sadly and ironically that's when I'm on the Valium.
I think if I'm honest although I have only been on it for five weeks, I do take it 3x a day and the thought of coming off it makes me scared and angry as it gives me some semblance of happiness. I guess this means I am probably already addicted right?
Thanks that sounds like good advice I am just so sick of the anxiety so it's so very tempting :(I know you werent talking to me, but i thought i would chim in.

Thats retard! Im on xanax, had to recently increase from 2 a day to 3 a day and to add to it...
The psychiatrist has mentioned Quetiapine but I was afraid it wouldn't be as effective so this has given me some hope thanks
see if they will give you seriquil, my therapist says its approved for BPD now in the new DSM 5 & it replaces anxiety med & known to work better & longer.
Yes, you've formed a habit. And you'll need to follow your Doc's guidance on getting off it again. But if it helps to know, the Valium would ultimately stop working - the body becomes habituated to it, sometimes quite quickly. So you really are better off getting something else to help with the anxiety.I have only been on it for five weeks, I do take it 3x a day and the thought of coming off it makes me scared and angry as it gives me some semblance of happiness. I guess this means I am probably already addicted right?
Haha. I've been in Xanax withdrawal for about four months. I was on Xanax for 1 1/2 years. I hit tolerance and then interdose withdrawal.
You're hitting tolerance now, that's the reason you had to increase your dose. You are in for one hell of a ride.....soon.
So keep chomping that Xanax. You won't be saying "that's retard" when you're rolling in your own vomit.
Just FYI, Seroquel and Quetiapine are the same drug. Seroquel is the brand name, Quetiapine the generic.
Thanks, I've just downloaded what's up, so I will give it a go
Best wishes to you. I hope everything works out for you. Thanks Bookoffee maybe that's a compromise I could reach. I hope so
