Why Can't Some Of Us Talk On The Forum?

I seems harsh that a couple of members are talking about her as if she can't read this thread. You've decided on what she is feeling, despite blanketly ignoring what she's said throughout this entire thread. Stop talking and listen for a second first. It's incredibly distressing, even as an...

Why Can't Some Of Us Talk On The Forum?

Personally I'm reading the that @Notsowild is defensive -it has been pointed out to her in the past and now when she's feeling vulnerable, instead of opening up fearlessly (or at least relatively speaking) she's prefacing the core of the the matter with defensiveness, she now feels that the...

Why Can't Some Of Us Talk On The Forum?

I agree that pity party is a derogatory term but more than that I think that being told that an emotion which you are experiencing is wrong, or unnecessary in some way is the language of abusers. Or at least language I've associated with abusers. You do need to feel an an emotion to process it...

Why Can't Some Of Us Talk On The Forum?

I've noticed it too and other things like conflicts and so on coupled with my own problems has meant I've needed to take a step back from here, or at least be very selective in what I read/reply to.

    Other Narcolepsy like ptsd symptoms

Dissociation makes me tired, so does anxiety, so does depression, so does having nightmares... I could go on. There are also physical conditions that cause sleepiness like an underactive thyroid - which can also make you feel more depressed. Sometimes I will sleep more than 20 hours a day for a...

Poll How Do You Leave Therapy?

I was just reading a blog post, where the writer was talking about a therapy session and at the end of the post they described the way they left -they always had toast (obviously a very different building to where I go) and then they said goodbye and lef, back fully to the door and their hands...

    A Big Day.

She is, when I first started I wasn't so sure but she's really grown on me and now I'm scared that when I move that I will lose her. It took a long time for "us" to feel comfortable with her and to be able to open up properly, so this will be a big shift - but one step at a time for now!

    A Big Day.

I don't make my poor T's life easy!! She's been very patient with me in allowing me to find my way in therapy. In our first preliminary session I went along mentioning the Pottergate Center for Trauma and Dissociation because of everything internally - which I was very vague with her about. A...

I Just Found Out My Fiance Didn't Get Me A V Day Card Even Though He Had Plenty Of Time

Valentines day isn't even until the 14th. (Unless it's different in the US?) Maybe he still wants it to be a surprise?

Fictional Characters With Ptsd - Movies/film, Tv And Literature.

Whilst I certainly agree on the trauma aspect of it, it seems like he healthily deals with it by the end of the film. I personally see it that he works through the stages of grief, aided by the storyline - which is a great thing to give to kids to help them when that arises for them. I don't see...

*^_^* It only sunk in the second time around - I've seen so many good ones, but this is the first one here! Thanks, I'm grinning so much now :)

Care Quality Commission Validated My Experience.

The hospital which I was inpatient at last year was apparently one of three put a list like you mention. This year - it was the only one out of the three that had taken no steps to improve themselves - after experiencing them first hand I could believe it. For me, learning of the hospitals dire...

    Young/child Parts And Grown-up Responsibilities?

Thanks everyone for the replies. The most obvious times this has happened for me was on a driving lesson a few years ago and a young child part was up front having fun - much to my very distant and more importantly the driving instructors complete and utter horror. He couldn't understand my...

    Young/child Parts And Grown-up Responsibilities?

To all of those who experience dissociative states with child parts/alters etc, (however you feel comfortable describing it), what do you do with grown up tasks. This could be something like driving, or general employment or even being out and about in public? Do you have any safeguards in place...

Is It Possible To Get Those Around You To Accept You Don't Want To Live?

I feel so very strongly that I don't wish to exist/live any more as well and I entirely relate to being killed by some external factor (like terminal illness or being hit by a bus etc). The simple fact is I would rather be dead than have to face or deal with any of my problems. I don't want to...

What Self Care Do You Do To Combat Stress Ageing?

I'm only 25 but supposedly look at least 5 years younger by everyone I meet. The only thing I can think that I do is drink a lot of water. I'd say make sure you're drinking 2-3 litres of water a day (more if you're exercising regularly or living in a hot climate). Add a slice of lemon, lime or...

    Don't Feel Physical Pain

Yup, I have gallstones and need my gallbladder out - it's only affected by stress though which is unusual - I have just this ^^

    Don't Feel Physical Pain

YES!! So, so impossibly cold - no amount of blankets or hot water bottles can stop it, only sleep. I thought that it was a blood sugar thing but I'm not so sure. I also get chilled like this from anxiety - which makes me tired, so who knows! My T has seen me like this at one session and was...

    Don't Feel Physical Pain

No, not at all - like I say I've put most of it under an all reaching "Hormonal" bracket, but I don't really think that's it at all. My T keeps asking me to get loads of stuff checked out by the doctors but they seem to blow it off, so I haven't really chased it up, I've been like it for as long...

    Don't Feel Physical Pain

I should point out mine isn't all the time. Usually I have an relatively high thresh-hold for pain and as stated above - sometimes I can't feel pain at all. I'm also good at enduring/tolerating sustained pain and growing levels of pain for long periods of time without being aware - and then...
