So long story short, I was seriously assaulted at work in Aug 2013. I spent a good deal of time off work, going to a psychologist, on meds, etc.
I tried a few different jobs and finally found one that "fit". Since I'm a government employee they didn't stop looking for a permanent accommodation until there was a match, knowing I couldn't go back to my old job.
I've been doing a trial in one place and verbally agreed to take it as a permanent position this week. I've been told that there's never been an incident in this office and worst thing that'll happen is someone might cry. Well, at the end of the day there was a man in the office. Out of the blue he smashed a computer to bits, threw the monitor through the wall, then turned to me. Puffed himself up and started swearing at me, calling me names and walking towards me. Thankfully I was able to get security to come and he left, cops were called, report was made.
I am TERRIFIED to go back to work... what on earth can I do now????
